November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.
July 29, 2023, 03:02:07 am Zainab_M: Yesterday was Ashura, Muharram 10, 1444 (July 27, 2023).  Read about this very tragic day and details of the world's greatest 7th century revolutionary: WHO WAS HUSSEIN.
June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

BismEm

As-salam Alaykum, peace, dear everyone.

Ista'adha (إِستَعَاذَ ) is the simplest and most important way to seek refuge in Allah The Almighty.

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

(Auzubillahi min ash Shaytanir rajeem)

Means  "I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast"

This is called the Ista'adha, that is, our cry to Allah Almighty to protect us against the evil plots of Satan the outcast.

Ista’adha is asking Allah (Subhanu Wa'Taala) to shelter us from Shaitaan.  The shelter is the shade provided to us from Allah The Almighty to keep us away from all evil temptations of Satan and his tribe.  The ista’adha is like a canopy and we keep ourselves safe under it’s shade.   Thus we implore Allah to provide us this shade, a very, very essential protection for those who are genuinely seeking the guidance of Allah.  It's also of utmost importance to understand each word of the Ista'adha while we recite it so we remember to keep grasping it as we go through life with all its tests and trials.  This awareness will help us to discern between the righteous and unrighteous paths, making us more worthy of the guidance of Allah.

We can make ista'adha at all times throughout the day and night.  But most importantly we must remember to recite it before beginning to read the Noble Quran as instructed in Verse 16:98.  Concluding from that, reciting ista'adha before starting to offer salah would be just as important.
Other suitable moments when submitters usually like to recite the Ista'adha are before dozing off to sleep at night, after waking in the morning and on times when we are upset or angry or going through some crisis when humans are more vulnerable to deviate.

I repeat, Auzubillahi min ash Shaytanir rajeem, the cry for refuge to Allah, is a Quranic concept we are instructed to observe with reference to Verse 16:98 quote:  "And when you recite the Qur'an, seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast."  Also remember, the other cries for refuge in Allah are the recitations of Surah Al-Falaq and Al-Nas, the 113th and 114th Chapters of the Noble Quran, respectively.  These two Chapters are the second-last and last Surah of the Noble Quran.

May The Almighty protect His slaves from the evil constantly being spread by Satan the outcast.  Ameen ya Allah, ameen.

O yes .. an indispensable call for help to The Almighty;  and as you mentioned, it's just so important to understand each word of the ista'aada.  Then only can a person sincerely try to grasp the Help of Allah and be considered worthy of His protection.  Unfortunately nowadays the ista'aada has become a mindless ritual.  Most Muslims recite it without the slightest of awareness, and thus, they may recite it that many times each day yet fail to find refuge in Allah .. and consequently also fail to find His guidance.

This is beautiful, simple and basic education for every true believer.  As we begin to educate our children on our great Faith, it's essential to teach them the importance of ista'aada by elucidating its relevance clearly and articulately.

Thank you and JazekAllah khair, sister Ruhi.    Salaam and peace to all.

You're welcomed Sis .. and you're right, it's definitely one of the starting lessons for our children.  Needs to be taught properly so that it doesn't become a meaningless ritual as they grow up into adults.

Salams and MashAllah.  Adorable post.  One of the most important duas we keep teaching our kids.

Also include Verse 23:97.

وَقُلْ رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ
(Wa'qul Rabbi auzabikamin hamazatez shayateen)

"And say: My Rab! I seek refuge in You from suggestions of the evil ones,"

Of course, Al-Falaq and Al-Nas are hugely effective cries for refuge in Allah.  And Verse 23:97 is the same but brief so might be easier for many to memorize and recite.
