Once upon a time feminism meant building an egalitarian society, the initial cornerstone of the ideology.  But it has come a long way since then with many needless twists and turns.  Presently it gawks like a vagrant; often capricious and goalless; commonly seen as the 'failure of soulless feminism' - part title of an article by Kim Domenico.  While I wouldn't agree with everything this piece contains, there may be a few thought provoking points.

A multitude of phony and soulless ones drowning the voices of a few earnest ones is the big sad story of the  movement called feminism.  Among all things one may hate to imagine, many "feminists" today actually had / have a record of inflicting abuse themselves.  Be it emotional, physical, domestic, whatever, abuse is just that.  It's variance is no presentation of options for the recipient of abuse to select from.  It's no longer exclusively about using gender to subjugate women.  It's just as much a gender subjugating its own gender.

The very soul of feminists thrown out of their moribund movement, outrage against men is the only passion they can grab which is no different from any other form of bias;  still more pathetic, it's no different from misogyny.

Soulless feminism dwells on 'identity politics' that's far more divisive than unifying.  More bluntly put, it has 'evolved' into a safe methodology for carving an identity for struggling narcissists.   Feminism like misogyny, walked on a fine line since its inception, having the potential of turning into an obsession (if not nurtured with care) which it has.  More often than not, obsession is a disease of the mind, ego and soul .... denial within oneself to acknowledge their limits alongside a strange paranoia of being controlled.  Recovery is hard as it involves stepping down-to-earth and the admission of everything the disease holds within itself.

But it's the illusion of powerlessness that plays havoc, pushing the obsessed to grab their fear-driven need to control just about everything themselves.  That brings the dire need for plenty of cover-ups.  As we see it now, this identity politics provides an appearance of presenting a true-blue case but evades every bit of its analysis, the realism of which feels too painful to confront.  More often than not, the hysteria is no less clamorous than any form of alt right fascism.  Rather than speaking out on abuse, it discreetly indulges in abuse, expecting the injustices it inflicts to remain concealed and thus negating the unquestionable truth it claims to uphold, that is, healing power contained within the act of speaking out by the abused.   Think of the great Italian poet, Maya Angelou, whose childhood sexual abuse at the hands of family friend drove her to silence.  But as a young woman and later throughout her life, she was one of the most significant vocal public figures fighting to preserve the dignity of the soul for all men and women.  Mainstream feminists presently would preach the approach of Maya Angelou, yet many would not preach to the person at the receiving end of their own harsh behavior to follow Angelou's example.  On the contrary, they preach silence as akin to peace and humanity.  A typical example among public figures was the late and deceitful Mother Teresa who preached to the poor living in her squalid shelter that pain and illness must be silently borne as blessing from God while herself visited California hospitals and clinics for every pain, sneeze and cough.  In everyday life, within relatives and friends, the number of such monsters is countless.  For some or many, "feminism" is a convenient guise that's relentlessly utilized posing for a virtuous cause.

As the phrase goes, "Be yourself.  Everyone else is already taken."  In the capitalist system, materialism is the benchmark.  Think of those numerous "famous" men and women with abounding unearned praises and privileges.  That's because money and social status is the criterion that sets the values, not the quality of one's intent nor its outcome. Those who have failed to recognize their own individual 'genius' either look upon others to structure an identity for themselves or give way to resentment for the privilege enjoyed by the undeserving, not out of a spirit of justice, but out of spite and envy for not having it themselves.  Similarly, feminism today lurks and rolls aimlessly within this vast intellectual slum.

I don't know who the author of this cartoon is, but it's darn true.

Enthralling piece sis Smiley   A movement gone very wrong.  It could have been helpful for so many voiceless women around the world, instead it has only ended up as an ideology filled with acrimony.  No matter what topic of discussion you pick, if a feminist is around, they will spin it some way or another, and make it an issue of men vs. women.   Feminism is supposed to grant equality to women and men, not split them as rivals.  Moreover, that image says a lot.   A happy quiet homemaker is a feminist's biggest enemy.

O yeah ..  "identity politics" is a very apt expression for feminism.  Good mind reading Sister Smiley  The goal of feminism of creating an identity is so embedded within feminists that they will zealously defend any person seen as a feminist even if that person is a convicted criminal.  Example, 90% of all female public figures who have made a name for themselves as 'feminists' supposedly fighting for the rights of women have defended Aung San Su Kyi's blatant complicity in the genocide in Burma against Rohingyas  claiming that in the past she stood up against her country's military, even though at present she has openly defended the oppression, murder and rape carried out by that same military.   In other words, for these people, their colleagues are more important than the principles they claim to stand up for.
