Same Sex Relationship NOT Allowed in the Noble Quran

Same sex relationship is a violation and a sin. Men and women MUST abstain from this practice. 

Homosexuality is prohibited in the Noble Quran by citing the example of the people of Lot.  The following verses will make this clear, God willing.

[7:80-81]
Lot said to his people, "You commit such an abomination; no one
in the world has done it before! "You practice sex with the men,
instead of the women. Indeed, you are a transgressing people."

[26:165-166]
"Do you have sex with the males, of all the people? "You forsake
the wives that your Lord has created for you! Indeed, you are
transgressing people."

The Quran forbids any sexual relationship other than in a marriage between a man and a woman. Many homosexual men and women claim that they are born with their sexual preferences and that they have no choice.  Such an idea is only an excuse to justify one's deplorable lust without making any attempts to get over it.  It has NO support in the Quran. 

We know that  this life is a test. Everyone goes through their own test.  For example someone may be born blind, but that person is expected to live his/her life according to God's law. Others are born poor, short, tall, weak, missing fingers, having big nose...etc but all of them are expected to follow the law of Allah. Some men or women may never marry in their life, or spend part of their life without a spouse. As per the Quran they still have to live a chaste life and avoid any sexual contacts outside a marriage. They have to suppress their sexual feelings to follow God's law. It is a major test and not an easy one for many. Only those who submit to Allah will do everything they can to follow His law. They know that their
salvation and eternal happiness rests in doing so.

Since Allah condemns homosexuality, then we have to believe that a man or a woman with homosexual or same gender desire  is expected to quit this way of life, live normally and follow God's laws if he/she truely believes.  He/she shall resist his/her feelings , maintain abstinence , use all available resources of help including medical, social and behavioral therapies to overcome their behavior and feelings. They know that their salvation and eternal happiness rests in doing so.  They should pray to God to help them getting over it and submit to God's law that sees homosexuality as gross sin. Only those who steadfastly persevere in obeying God's law will pass their test.

For a person who asks, "why me?" We know God is the Most Merciful and Just (16:90) and He will give each one of us a fair test and a fair chance. He assigns the tests to suite each one of us and we believe that He will never burden any soul beyond its means (23:2).

We have cited for the people in this Quran all kinds of examples,
but most people insist upon disbelieving.

[18:54]
We have cited in this Quran every kind of example, but the human
being is the most argumentative creature.

[39:27]
We have cited for the people every kind of example in this Quran,
that they may take heed.

The spouses that God have made from among ourselves are those that aid in
producing children. Since the spouses in homosexual relationship would not
produce children they are not the spouses God made from among ourselves.

[16:72]
And GOD made for you spouses from among yourselves, and produced for
you from your spouses children and grandchildren, and provided you with
good provisions. Should they believe in falsehood, and turn unappreciative
of GOD's blessings?

With regard to dealing with homosexuals, the basic rule governing this would
be 60:8 & 9.

[60:8-9]
GOD does not enjoin you from befriending those who do not fight
you because of religion, and do not evict you from your homes. You
may befriend them and be equitable towards them. GOD loves the
equitable. GOD enjoins you only from befriending those who fight
you because of religion, evict you from your homes, and band
together with others to banish you. You shall not befriend them.
Those who befriend them are the transgressors.

However, to be a winner we have to advocate righteousness and
forbid evil.

[3:104]
Let there be a community of you who invite to what is good, advocate
righteousness, and forbid evil. These are the winners.

[3:110]
You are the best community ever raised among the people: you advocate
righteousness and forbid evil, and you believe in GOD. If the followers of
the scripture believed, it would be better for them. Some of them do believe,
but the majority of them are wicked.

[9:71]
The believing men and women are allies of one another. They advocate
righteousness and forbid evil, they observe the Contact Prayers (Salat)
and give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and they obey GOD and His
messenger. These will be showered by GOD's mercy. GOD is
Almighty, Most Wise.

Also, if God so wills, a reminder may benefit the person.


[6:69]
The righteous are not responsible for the utterances of those people,
but it may help to remind them; perhaps they may be saved.

[87:9]
Therefore, you shall remind; perhaps the reminder will benefit.

I am glad you put this up sister cp.  Many people ask questions about the stance of Islam on same gender relationships.  I think this article is very well compiled, truthful and balanced.  It mentions the prohibition of same sex relations exactly as mentioned in the Quran .. with the example of the people of Lot's village.  God makes it clear that same sex relationships are wrong and repugnant.  At the same time the Quran also makes it obvious that just as there's no death penalty for adultery in Islam, there is also no death penalty for this either.  The modern shariah laws have put some very stringent punishments involving death for those indulging in this act of same gender relations.  The truth is that the Quran has clearly & loudly condemned the practice of same gender relations which is sufficient reason for a sincere believer to avoid such acts, but the Quran does not say to kill such people.  Actually, according to shariah laws in Saudi Arabia, I've been told that they often give death penalty even for drinking.  That's a gross violation of the Quran.  Drinking has been greatly discouraged in the Quran and believers told to refrain from it.  But nowhere does the Quran even hint that alcohol consumption should be dealt with a death sentence.

Chastity in Islam is well defined in the Noble Quran. It is not just limited to sexual intercourse. It includes everything that deals with and promotes sex and sexual excitement talking loose, flirting, dressing inappropriately, promoting sexual and evil thoughts in the society are all condemned in the Noble Quran !! Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and be modest. That is purer for them. Lo! Allah is aware of what they do.24:30 .About homosexuals and men who claim they were born that way and have no control over , the people who say that they are physically attracted to the same sex and it's by birth ?  i don't get this If Allah forbids homosexuality then why does He allow people to be born gay ?  bisexual by birth Quran does confirm but gay and lesbians by birth ? NO ! also there is No definitive scientific proof that anyone is born homosexual ,it could be some hormonal imbalances in humans desires and behaviour and person can not blame Allah for his evil desires because .No one knows man and his nature more than the One Who Created man, and gave him his nature and HE Declares that this attraction of male-to-male or female-to-female is an unnatural and a shameless deviation of man himself ! absolutely Quran does NOt support this evil act they have excuse No, No authority to legitimate homosexuality anyway, because anal sex is also haram /anal sex prohibit even with wife it's not allowed so how it could be legitimate for male-to-male ? Allah, who created us,the heavens,the earth, and everything in between,in His Divine and Perfect Wisdom and Knowledge created and ordained the laws for everything likewise for our carnal functions and pleasures, He ordained a law and a legal means for us , then you may go to them in the manner ordained for you by Allah.2:222 men (husband) approach his wife for sexual intercourse, in the manner ordained by Allah (the natural way) So ?? .The only marriage institution recognised by the Quran by explicit verses is a marriage between man and woman (nikah) from a Quran’s perspective, it would be impossible for a homosexual relationship be legitimised when even a relationship between man and woman requires wedlock (nikah). Man's companion would be his wife and a wife’s companion / spouse her husband.Quran deems homosexuality as a sinful transgression and immorality.Homosexuality is absolutely forbidden it is an abomination and a grave sin in the sight of Allah, Noble Quran loudly referred this act to lust arabic word in 27:55/7:81 'Shahwah' means an intense yearning for romance ,desire for a thing.It can be a reference to lust, carnal or gratification of venereal lust,Homosexuality is fahisha (lewdness) 27:54 Quranic verse clearly condemn lustful acts between the same genders.Quran explicitly forbids all shameful acts. The arabic word used in this verse is Al-Fahshah means every shameless activity and this is not restrict to man doing it with another man or a woman doing it with another woman or man doing it with a woman. No Support for Lasbian ,Woman is only allowed to have sexual relationship with her husband. Not with anyone else be it man or woman.Same-sex intercourse is prohibited as a violation of the natural boundaries set by Allah.No approval from Quran bening gay or lesbian .

And whoso disobeyeth Allah and His messenger and transgresseth His limits, He will make him enter Fire, where he will dwell for ever; his will be a shameful doom 4:14

 

Regarding the modernistis or progressives muslims web sites and those who misinterpreting Quran trnaslation to support homosexuality i would say such folks are hopeless cases, freeminders are barin free but sadly what we should admit that In distorting the any Quran verse some so-called muslim writers ,sex sick fahash poets are also involved some how, and i feel the gross violation and mockery in religion plainly came through erotic hadith & pron literature and all together our ulma's created and always promoted endless sexual fantasy of paradise in muslim circle, this is enough encouragement for such  modernists jerks  what shocks me is the chaste love of men for youths in the romantic love literature supported by classical Arabic poet, who violate the Quran verses his name is Abu Nuwas see his poetry below '' Perfumed Garden' by Abu Nuwas''

His commissioned work includes poems on hunting, the love of women, and panegyrics to his patrons. He was infamous for his mockery and satire, two of his favorite themes being the sexual passivity of men and the sexual intemperance of women. Despite his celebration of male sexual freedom, he was less than sympathetic towards lesbianism, and often mocked what he perceived as its inanity. He liked to shock society by openly writing about things which Islam forbade. He may have been the first Arab poet to write about masturbation.[citation needed]

Walaikum Salaam.  MashAllah, sister Muslima, thanks for your input.  I read it with great interest and your additional views on this topic are indeed very true and helpful for further clarification. 

The Noble Quran has very definitely expressed same gender relationships as a completely forbidden aspect of human life.  And you're absolutely right to quote Verse 2:222 which expresses a clear prohibition of anal sex also between wife and husband. 

The modernist idea of same sex attraction being natural is totally unacceptable.  Morals or lack of morals is never inherent of human nature.  It's always the surroundings that play a role in molding their minds which consequently causes the changes and builds up their character.  Allah says in the Quran "Lo! Allah changeth not the condition of a folk until they (first) change that which is in their hearts;" (13:11).  This Verse makes it clear that Allah has chosen not to preordain anything in humans.  It's they who choose their path of conduct and as a result of that, the consequences follow by the permission of Allah.  Thus, Allah states in Verse 2:286 "Allah tasketh not a soul beyond its scope. For it (is only) that which it hath earned, and against it (only) that which it hath deserved."

I have also read of some modernists who have purposely misinterpreted Verse 52:24.  "And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls."  This is a beautiful Verse which elucidates gender equality concerning the hospitality in Paradise, in that, it's not just the females who are symbolic as the hosts of Paradise, but also the grace and purity of male hosts contribute to dignify and heighten the perfection of the atmosphere in Paradise.

Yes, you're right. The baseless and false sexual descriptions by sexist Hadith writers and imams depicting their imaginary portrayals of Paradise consisting of naked huris have been one of the main causes of leading to a variety of vulgar myths and gossips with sexual connotations in connection with Paradise.  And to justify it further, these same people embark upon misinterpreting Quranic Verses. 

I also fully concur that dirty Arabic and Persian poems have only made matters far worse providing encouragement to gossip mongers prone to vulgarity.  I never knew about this poet, Abu Nawas.  Thanks for the information.  He was apparently another crook like Jalaluddin Rumi.  Most Muslims praise Rumi but in reality he was also a homosexual and had written many poems expressing his carnal desires on same-sex attraction.  InshAllah, their fate on the Day of Judgment will be grievous.

The only relationship that is allowed in the Quran is between man and woman after marriage and the nature of this relationship must be based on the Halal law of Allah as mentioned in Verse 2:222.
