Crow and the pitcher

As-Salam Alaykum and hi kiddos.   I'm here after a long time, sorry for that.   The pandemic with all its worries is drivin everyone nuts.

Anyhow, here's an interesting bit.


These crows and magpies are smart guys, ha .....


The commonly told story goes something like this:

In a spell of hot and dry weather when the birds could find very little to drink, a thirsty crow found a pitcher with a little water in it. But it was a high pitcher with a narrow neck.  The crow tried his best to reach the water.  He couldn't.  Sadly he thought he has no other choice but to give up and die of thirst.     Then suddenly, an idea occurred to him.  Picking up some pebbles strewn nearby, he dropped them in the pitcher one by one.  With each pebble dropped, the level of the water rose higher, until it was high enough for the crow to reach and quench his thirst. 

Alhumdulilah.   If there's a will, Allah grants you a way, Insh'Allah. 

Giving up is not a good idea.   Using our common sense at the right time can be helpful more often than not.

Reading it as a story will make you say "it's just a story."  But when you really see it happen, you gonna say "this crow has a master's degree in physics"  😃

.. yeah, this one really happened 😉




Now watch the video in the link below ..  The guy dropped at least three pebbles inside the bottle before he was able to enjoy a cool drink of water  😑

The one in the sketch is a crow, the real one in the video looks more like a magpie.

Correct sis, that one is a magpie.

It's simpler to find the difference between crow and magpie.  But what's the difference between crow and raven?

Ravens are noticeably larger in size.  Crows are about the same size as pigeons.

.. and sis, would you know if jays are of the same family as ravens, crows and magpies?

From what I know, yes, they're all of the same family known as the 'Corvida family' .. although jay birds look very different.  They're smaller and in colors of blue, beige or grey, sometimes a mix of two of these colors.  Yet they're included in the Corvida family.
