October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

Salaams folks!  I got a notification of new topic by sister Heba on the interpretation of V.11:106-108, but now when I come to read it, the link seems to have vanished 🙂  Isn't this strange? 🤔  I think sister Heba didn't click on the post button correctly or maybe she did, and the server became slow (as it sometimes does) and didn't register the command.

I'd request you to post it again sister.  I checked those verses.  They're very good and important.

106. As for those who will be wretched (on that day) they will be in the Fire; sighing and wailing will be their portion therein,

107. Abiding there so long as the heavens and the earth endure save for that which your Rab wills. Lo! your Rab is Doer of what He will.

108. And as for those who will be glad (that day) they will be in the Garden, abiding there so long as the heavens and the earth endure save for that which your Rab wills: a gift unfailing. 11:106-108 (Surah Hud)

InshAllah, I'll write on these verses tomorrow.  Right now it's almost sahoor and fajr time so I gotta go Smiley

Yikes! that's strange.  and yep, I do remember putting that post.  I'm also pretty sure I clicked the 'post' button ..... but obviously something went wrong somewhere, somehow Sad

Anyhow, what I said was, the blessed month of Ramadan has begun and it's a good time to start discussions of the Glorious Verses of the Glorious Quran.  Nice talks on nice months help to elevate the spirit.  Alhumdulilah.

About verses 11:106-108 - the words "save for that which your Rab wills" as stated in verses 107 and 108 perhaps signify that for some dwellers of Hellfire and Paradise, their time there could be temporary as per the Will of Allah.  I just wanted some feedback on that.

All times are great for discussing the Glorious Quran, but the month of Ramadan is particularly special.

You put a good question with an important observation, sister Heba.

I think it would imply differently for Hellfire and Paradise.

About Hellfire when Allah says "save for that which your Rab wills" might mean that those people who are guilty of wrongdoing but not to a very great extent or those who aren't entitled to absolute forgiveness without first being subjected to some punishment for their sins, may have to endure punishment at Hellfire for sometime and to some extent.  After that, either their punishment could be lightened or they could be brought to some lower grade of Paradise.  Reward and punishment in the Hereafter will have various grades, depending upon the level of reward or punishment a person deserves.

As for those in Paradise, that same expression "save for that which your Rab wills" would most likely mean that a person could stay at a certain level or grade of Paradise for sometime and then be elevated to a higher level or vice-versa, depending upon their earthly deeds.

However, as per Allah's infinite mercy and the Quranic ideology, I feel quite sure that once Allah admits someone into Paradise, they won't be sent to Hellfire after that.  They might only shift between different levels of Paradise.  That's as much as can be said.  This is because once Allah grants permission to a person to enter Paradise (Jannah), it indicates that that person has acquired Allah's basic acceptance.  Therefore, even if this person is not worthy of a higher place in Jannah, they won't belong to Hellfire either.  So their place would be at some lower levels of Jannah.

It's very important to know that all decisions made by Allah depend on every little detail of our earthly life - that is, our belief in Him, the depth of our iman, our acceptance and obedience of His Message, our earthly conduct with others, our intentions etc.  Therefore, Allah takes the most just course of action with every individual and NO ONE is wronged by His decisions.  It is for this reason that only Allah is able to decide the fate of every person most accurately, granting each one exactly what they have earned during their earthly life.

The final truth and explanation of every verse is known to Allah alone.

Thank you to sister Heba for posting it up (attempting to, but it is the intention that counts) and thanks to sister Zeynab for re-posting it.

I would just like to say that the term "unless Allah wills" is 'loosely' used by in the Qur'an and often used to emphasise that fact that for anything to happen, Allah's will is required but it does not necessarily mean that that thing will happen (ie. "there is no intercession, save by His will"). Or here, it does not necessarily mean that they will be taken out of Hell, but simply that only Allah's will could (not 'will') save them now. Or perhaps to emphasise that they are at the mercy of Allah (while on earth they felt they were the decision makers).

I hope inshaAllah, that above makes sense. May Allah keep our heart firm in faith and in the religion communicated to us. InshaAllah, all true Believers will join in the Final gathering, rejoicing.

Peace.

Thank you brother Ace.  Your point of view on these verses makes perfect sense.  You are also right that references of every occurence being totally dependent upon the supreme Will of Allah is defined throughout the Noble Quraan.

Thanks again for this input brother.  It opened up my mind further Smiley

Salaams and peace ..

Returning to this topic after over a decade cause I need to clarify an important point.   Of course what brother AOH said is totally correct as confirmed throughout the Quran.  Focused specifically on Verses 11:107-108, the Verses state "except what your Rab wills"  (ila ma shaa Rabbuka), not "unless ...."    So I think Sister Zeynab's commentary specifies that right.

Thanks a lot Sister Heba.  I observed that too some time ago and should have clarified that myself but forgot somehow.   The Arabic "ila" is definitely "except." The expression "save for" in some translations means the same as "except" while 'unless' carries a somewhat different definition particularly in connection to the two Verses in discussion here.   While the simple term "except" means 'not including' or 'excluding,' the word "unless" means 'except if' .. when something would happen only under a certain condition ... 'unless' being a more formal expression of 'till' or 'until.'
