Salams and peace my kiddos.   You know, when my siblings and me were your age, we led comparatively more serene lives even though we got plenty more homework from school.  The reasons being, it was a more laid back world with lesser population, more rational minds, lower cost of living and therefore less materialism.  Moreover, kids seldom or never experienced the agony of broken homes by divorced parents.  Thus, as life pulls through us at present, worries are the norm of the day and often kids aren't spared either.

So, take a look at the image above.  What do you understand?   Nope, it's not a portrayal of wishful thinking.  The lil boy peacefully dreams of roses but after he awakens, the sweet dream becomes a far cry with no roses .. just thorns.  Yet the lil boy doesn't give up; he doesn't slump into despondency.  As a kid grounded in Faith and infinite patience (sabr), he continues to cheer himself up with a positive outlook to life knowing that earthly world is temporary and tough times are just as non-permanent as nice times.

My next suggestion to all you kiddies:  Browse through the following links and read whatever you can in your own good time.  These are truly lovely reads and you'll love them.  By the way, taqwa is another term for sabr and sabr means patience as already defined.

MashAllah, remarkable lesson .... the image so accurately customized.  InshAllah, I'll send this to all the children of my family and extended family with special emphasis to read at least one of those links.  By the Grace of Allah, most young ones of the next generation in my household are avid readers.

Thank you Sister Ruhi.

Indeed this is excellent early teaching for kids.  You're so right sister.  Nowadays stress isn't just an adult issue, it's getting the better of children too.   The start of the 3rd millennium has seen so many proxy wars initiated by the West in Muslim lands inflicting thousands of kids with life changing injuries and thousands orphaned.  It's been one of the greatest disasters and chief causes for ruining the lives of children with endless anxiety.  The only thing that can help these beautiful little angels is Sabr along with love and plenty of truthful & comforting words.

May Allah Almighty protect believing children with HIS guidance, the Noble Quran.  Ameen.

Ameen, ameen.  That's again also a very apt point.  Those damn wars of America hiring AlQaeda has particularly devastated the lives of countless number of children in the Middle-East.  It's a very difficult situation for them.  They need Islamic counseling .... someone to talk to them with affection and concern so they are able to understand the purpose of their remaining lives to be able to live it despite the unforgettable emotional trauma they've suffered.

SubhanAllah and wow!  what a sweet post Smiley  Despite his childhood worries and disquiet, the little guy doesn't give up his resolve of holding fast to his dreams and realizing them some day, InshAllah.   If your faith in Allah is firm as a rock, sabr will not be as intimidating as you think.

Indeed those ugly wars have caused the greatest devastation to kids ... from happy childhoods to orphans  Sad

Thanks for the enlightening post and comments, sisters and brother.
