It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

As-Salam Alaykum sisters and brothers.

The other day this topic was brought up at our Muslim community centre and I was the main speaker, though it isn't a complicated one.  However, a lot of people were eager to know if it can be viewed as Halal in Islam.

Yes it is Halal provided you follow a couple of conditions.

First, the procedure is Halal ONLY as long as it involves the husband and wife and NO third person.  This means both the sperm and the egg utilized in the procedure must come from the same married couple participating in the IVF process.  Thus, the sperm must be extracted from the husband and fertilized with the egg of his wife.  If this rule is followed, then even if the fertilization process takes place in a test tube and later implanted in the wife's womb for conception is Halal from the Islamic view point.  In this case, as believers, we are only deriving Halal and legal benefit from some additional professional knowledge which Allah Almighty has bestowed on us.   But, if a third person is involved then this procedure becomes totally Haram.  This means,  if the sperm or egg is obtained from a man or a woman who is a donor and an outsider to carry out the IVF procedure for the married couple is NOT allowed.   Nor is the IVF procedure allowed between a man and a woman who are not married.

Lastly, even in the case of a legally married couple, IVF should not be done just for the fun of it.  It can only be seen as an option if the wife is genuinely unable to conceive the natural way.

Walaikum Salaam, and very well spoken Sister Ruhi.  I never thought of Islam and IVF, but the issue was inevitable.  With so much chemicals, synthetics and strong medications which people consume in the modern world, human fertility isn't the same as it used to be a couple of hundred years ago.  But it also becomes just as much a matter of morals if the proper rules aren't followed.  Your clarifications are spot on.  Alhumdulilah.

Thanks Sis.  As usual it was followed by arguments from some folks who couldn't understand why a third person donor should be prohibited.  They just couldn't perceive the lack of morals in it.

The reason why third persons must be prohibited is because such a step has the potential to build up a close personal relation or link between either one of the spouses and that third person or donor, which should not happen as the third person would always be a non-mehrem.

Secondly, the participation of a third person would mean one of the spouses cannot be the biological parent of the child.  That again in some cases could open the door of personal relations between the two non-mehrem biological parents, and it may also spark the issue of identity crisis for the child later in life.

These are just a few points to mention.  There could be many other emotional and practical fallouts with the passage of time that could have a very negative impact on the well-being of a family.

Very correctly described Sis.  I'll make a note of this.
