November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.
July 29, 2023, 03:02:07 am Zainab_M: Yesterday was Ashura, Muharram 10, 1444 (July 27, 2023).  Read about this very tragic day and details of the world's greatest 7th century revolutionary: WHO WAS HUSSEIN.
June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

Yes, Jasmine Revolution was impressive no doubt, in that, it mainly gained a victory in the sphere of free speech.  Journalists in Tunisia have complete freedom of speech, unlike Iran.  But Tunisia didn't succeed as much concerning the ideology of governance.  They haven't been able acquire the best post-Jasmine Rev work strategy.  As in the case of Iran, they have established a wholly different and independent system to run their country which includes foreign policy ..... at least until now with Syed Ali Khamanei at the helm of the Supreme Council.  It's difficult to say what might happen after him.  Only Allah knows best.  One can only pray and hope his successor will be as committed to the values of the Revolution as him.  I do hope Iran works a bit more on promoting free speech.  Though very important, however it still takes the back seat when it comes to defending sovereignty.  I mean, what's the point of giving freedom of speech to journalists and then becoming a puppet and cracking down on anti-puppetism?  Though I don't mean to say that post revolution Tunisia is a puppet either.

Very good point Sister Heba.    But you too have underscored a very relevant point, Sister Zeynab.  It reminds me of an editor's note (J. Flores) in a piece at Fort Russ - "All states are dictatorships – the immediate question even at the surface revolves around the degree of social and economic justice in that society, or in short – in whose interests is the dictatorship wielded?"      No doubt Iran needs to do more to allow its journalists and other folks to talk more freely about government issues, I mean constructive arguments, not pitting one against the other for promoting trouble.   Utilized the right way, wise free speech helps tremendously, if they understood, enables the government to know which direction things are moving and to what extent mindsets have changed.  Tunisia has achieved that.  To be honest, when my family and I spend our days in Tunisia, we really feel relaxed, more than any country in the ME and more than in the West. Though I cannot assert for how long it'll stay this way as certain wealthy Arab dictators are already frowning over the freedom Tunisians are enjoying since booting out Zinal Abedine Ben Ali.

But post-Jasmine Rev Tunisia isn't as plucky as post Islamic Rev Iran when it comes to putting up a brave front against bullying, and often does end up shaking hands with with the wrong people.   Tunisians fearlessly express their disagreement over many of Essebsi's policies, but he seldom listens to them.
