Salams folks.  You know what?   Lemon isn't just a wonderful natural skin toner.  It's more particularly when combined with honey.     That's lemon and honey tea or hot lemon & tea beverage.    Alhumdulilah.  Never stop counting your blessings from HIM.    A delicious form of daily tea, an elixir for fine general health (specifically great for the liver) and the most wonderfully effective natural cough medicine for soothing the throat and loosening congestion.

Its recipe is the simplest imaginable.     For one cup a lemon-honey tea, squeeze the juice of half lemon (yellow lemon as shown in pic).  Add one teaspoonful natural honey.    Boil water in the kettle.  When ready, pour in the cup with lemon and honey.    Stir well.   Sip.  If you are taking it as cough / congestion remedy, then sip hot.   Make sure you finish it.

Some people might like to had 1 and a half teaspoon honey instead of 1.   That's fine unless you're borderline diabetic.      Adjust as desired.

I tell you, it tastes amazing and is one of Allah Almighty's most wonderful gifts for our health.  Ameen ya Rab.

Subhan'Allah.   I cannot describe how much this has helped my stubborn asthmatic cough and deep congestion.  For long I was stuck with extra strength cough-congestion syrups and had to cope with the downside of drowsiness and heaviness of the head, making it tougher to handle a flu.   The all-natural lemon & honey remedy is just super.

Praise be to Allah.  This looks simple and great.  My mother makes the natural homemade cough syrup with honey, sliced fresh ginger and bit of cayenne pepper with hot water.   We've been having it since were kids.  It's also helps a lot but the ginger spoils the taste a bit.   Lemon and honey sounds like excellent combination.

Fresh ginger and cayenne pepper?  Thanks for the additional idea brother.    I need to keep all natural cough recipes at hand.   My changing weather flues never spare me for long, and cough with congestion is an ingrained part of it.

Yes, fresh ginger, cayenne and honey.  You can keep the recipe as an additional one at hand.  Good idea.

This is great, isn't it?  Praise be to Allah.   It's a very popular drink in my home .. .... ..  hot cup a lemon-honey tea in winter and chilled lemon-honey sherbet in summer.  It's suitable in both seasons.

That's very correct sister Heba.  I've also read in western medical news sources that pure honey is a very good substitute for cough syrups particularly for children.  And kids tend to like it much more for its pleasant sweet taste instead of the distasteful cough syrups.

Exactly.  Honey is a very effective cough cure for children and teenagers in particular.  Even for adults it's a very good cough medication and hugely soothing for the throat. Feels best when you first gargle with saltwater and then swallow a teaspoonful of natural honey.  Works wonderful.

Just remember to rinse your mouth well with water after having honey or lemon-honey tea for the health & hygiene of teeth.
