It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

BismEm

Sub:  The word نَصَارَىٰ (nasara) in the Noble Quran

(5:82) Surah Al-Maidah   " الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّا نَصَارَىٰ "

"those who say, 'We (are) nasara.' "

Does this word in the Noble Quran refer to the Christian community?

Can anyone give some authentic information on the definition and origin of the word 'nasara' ?   Thanks.

Yes, it refers to the Christians.   In Arabic it's  نَصَارَىٰ   (nasara), plural only.    It comes from the word 'Nazarene' which denotes 'from Nazareth.'   Nazareth, as everyone knows, is located in northern Palestine which was usurped and occupied by the Zionists or Ashkenazi European Jews in 1948.   Thus the expression about Prophet Essa son of Maryam, "Jesus from Nazareth."

In the Noble Quran the term for Christians is "Nasara" specified in Verses  2:62, 111, 113, 120,135, 140 (Al-Baqrah), 5:14, 18 (Al-Maidah), 9:30 (At-Taubah),  22:17 (Al-Hajj).  I am sure there are several more Verses too but these are the few I recall at the moment.  Do please read them.

Since the Noble Quran directly refers to the Christians as "Nasara," thus obviously Nazareth was the native town of Prophet Essa.  But only Allah Almighty can confirm it.

We do know that Prophet Essa son of Maryam belonged to the region of Palestine.  Nazarene is supposed to be a term given to early Christians of 1st century.   The gossips of altered biblical history have made the term "nazarene" into a very complicated topic with numerous senseless stories and contradictions as usual which are not important and need to be ignored.

The English translation of 'nasara' is Christians.  But it's not a correct translation from Islamic view point, because the term "Christian" is derived from the word Christ which comes from the Greek word 'christos' meaning "anointed one."  Anointment is an invented Christian ceremony of smearing  or rubbing oil (or aromatic oil) over a person's head or entire body, typically as part of a religious ceremony.   According to Christian tales, edited and changed dozens to times, the body of Jesus son of Virgin Maryam was "anointed" with spices and oil when he was buried.  Also there's a myth that his feet were anointed by a woman's tears who had been sinful and then she wiped her tears on his feet with her hair ... all that nonsense.

The Noble Quran confirms Essa son of Virgin Maryam was not killed on the cross, he ascended to the sky by the will and decision of Allah The Almighty.  The figure on the cross was simply an apparition.  The one buried was obviously the apparition which may explain why his grave was found empty soon after his burial.  After all, apparitions aren't real existences and they vanish after a while.  The stories woven by Christians are that it was stolen, some say resurrected.  The truth is, he had already ascended much earlier as confirmed by the Noble Quran.  Moreover, the Quran says nothing about anointment etc.  Those are just rubbish tales and fastasies.

The "tomb" of Prophet Essa son of Virgin Maryam which is supposed to be in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem  is an accepted conjecture or guesswork of his burial site among many other stories.  Essa son of Virgin Maryam does not have any earthly grave because of the simple reason that he never died on earth.

Many thanks dear sis, for this very straightforward and comprehensive summary.   For sure non-Muslim sources have made it mind-boggling complicated and contradictory .. the confusions being endless.

Must share this with my family.     Allah bless.

Useful read and very well explained.   If you try to go through those non-Muslim sources on this subject, they drive you nuts with intricate details that just don't add up nor make sense.  Even worse than Hadith.

My sister who was reading this thread yesterday also found it very informative.  She added, the idea of "anointed" in Christianity has been borrowed in hadith book numbers 475, 476 and 4.1812 all in Sahih Muslim claiming wudu washes away sins.

Very good observation by your sister.  That false hadith carries the same concept as anointment.

Btw, what is the name of the place Nazareth known in Arabic?

lol, yes ... same concept.

In Arabic, Nazareth is called Al-Nasirah;  and Al-Nasirah is also the name of another small Christian town in north-west Syria.

Some Hadithists claim that the word 'nasara' means 'helpers' and that's how the Christians got it.  I don't understand.  Why would the Christians be called helpers?   And how does 'nasara' mean helper.  I never heard of that.

No sister.  That concept is completely wrong.  In regard to why Christians are called 'Nasara' in the Quran, the misinterpretation going around claims that the term "nasara" originates from 'ansar,' and yes we know that 'ansar' means 'helpers' and that's why the Christians in the Quran are referred to as 'nasara.'   To further tout this incorrect interpretation claiming 'nasara' originates from 'ansar' given to Christians, those mindless folks have misinterpreted Verse 61:14 in which Allah Almighty mentions "O ye who believe! Be Allah's helpers, even as Essa son of Mary said unto the disciples: Who are my helpers for Allah? They said: We are Allah's helpers. And a party of the Children of Israel believed, while a party disbelieved." (61:14 Surah As-Saff).   There is absolutely no indication in this Verse that from this time onward, Christians would be called "nasara" as they were the 'ansar' (helpers) for the cause of Allah.  Furthermore, it cannot possibly allude to that because of the simple reason that the terms 'ansar' and 'nasara' are completely independent words having nothing in common.  Anyone who knows even the basics of Arabic will know it.

I reiterate. The word nasara does not originate from ansar.   'Ansar' means helpers and from the Medinah era this word has been synonymous with the residents of Medinah in the Prophet's (pbuh) era.   'Nasara' (singular 'nasrani' which is seldom used) is derived from the Palestinian town of Nazareth which was the native town of Essa, son of Virgin Maryam. The Arabic name for the town of Nazareth is an-Nāṣira and a person belonging to that place is referred to as an-Nāṣirī which is a variation of 'Nasara.'  In English, it would be Nazarenes or Nazarene which means natives or native of Nazareth.

Secondly, also don't mix up 'nasara' with the word 'nasr.'  Some conjecturers have also claimed that the term 'nasara' for Christians comes from 'nasr.'   The word 'nasr' means 'victory' and it has nothing to do with the term 'nasara.'   Surah An Nasr (النصر‎) is the 110th Surah of the Qur'an composed of 3 ayat (verses).  The word can be called 'Al-Nasr' or 'An-Nasr' meaning 'The Victory.'  It refers to the victory of the believers who have surrendered to Allah, and as we know, surrender to Allah means being Muslim in Arabic.
