November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

As-Salam Alaykum dear kiddies.  Eid al-Adha mubarak to all of you and your families.

Like Ramadan, this Hajj season in the mid of a pandemic has been very different from any time in the past.

But briefly, let us wrap up on the core message of this occasion.

The real message of Eid al-Adha is not to have our freezers stacked up with meat nor to have our refrigerators filled with our favorite meat dishes.  It is in commemoration to the commandment of Allah Almighty to Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) to sacrifice his son, which was of course a test for Prophet Ibrahim.  Allah Almighty only wanted to test the strength of Prophet Ibrahim's faith and commitment to Him.  Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Prophet Ismail, both proved steadfast to carry out the order of Allah. Prophet Ibrahim was ready to sacrifice his son and Prophet Ismail was ready to give himself to be sacrificed.  That's when Allah Almighty commanded Prophet Ibrahim to stop, that he had obeyed the Divine Commandment. Thus, Eid al-Adha is a time when we need to be introspective and ask ourselves to what extent are we ready to persevere in the face of earthly trials and tribulations without caving in and complaining to Allah.

Never forget the following Verse in regard to Eid al-Adha:

"Lan yanala Allaha luhumuha wala dimauha walakin yanaluhu al-taqwa minkum."  22:37.

This Verse translates into:  "Their flesh will not reach Allah , nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you."

Thus, it is our devotion to Him and our steadfastness which Allah watches.

In a nutshell the lesson is:  Regardless of what the climate is, we stay committed.  Despite the circumstances, we wake up as Muslims every morning and stay a Muslim with all its requirements as Allah commanded in His Final Message, the Noble Quran.   This is the most remarkable thing about being a believer.   No one will snatch our Faith unless Allah Almighty wills .. and that can happen only if we make ourselves unworthy of His guidance.  Hence, the utmost importance on staying committed.  The more we commit ourselves, the more He purifies our souls that includes our actions, thoughts, intentions, emotions and feelings.  Regardless of personal circumstances, at the time of death we leave with La ilaha ilAllah Muhammadur RasoolAllah.  May Allah Subhanu wa'Tala accept our efforts and our sacrifice, and promote unity & support amongst each other - our ummah, our families, our extended families, our friends and neighbors.  May Allah bless our parents, those parents who are with us and those who have passed.  Ameen ya Rab, ameen.

Walaykum As-Salam Sister.  This is an excellent piece you have posted that just as useful for children as well as adults.  Unfortunately many adults know very little about the essence of Eid al-Adha as the word "adha" itself signifies sacrifice ... but not just sacrifice to fill our stomach for our favorite foods as you stated .. it's about sacrifice to stay steadfast in regard to our Faith in Him.

We had our Eid al-Adha prayer in our home with family and close ones of extended family.  Fortunatley the very big hall on the ground floor of our family home was able to accommodate everyone comfortably with social distancing of 2 meters and of course wearing of masks by everyone.  A 13-year-old niece of mine (cousin's daughter) is giving her parents a somewhat hard time by getting influenced by some school friends into secularism.  I mean, she isn't quite secular.  But keeps asking angry questions without thinking.  My cousin and her husband have become very cautious.  They rightly feel if they don't handle her with care and detailed explanations to all her queries, she may deviate.

After Eid al-Adha salah when my father finished delivering the khutba, he told the children to ask whatever questions they had.  This niece asked that the test of Prophet Ibrahim would today be interpreted as schizophrenia so how can we justify it in the case of Prophet Ibrahim.  The following is the answer my father gave which I quote as below from my mobile app recording.  This is useful information for everyone, children and adults, who have a tendency to deviate and are unable to think realistically.

Quote:

Some people who haven't understood the actual message of Eid al-Adha say that if someone at present wanted to sacrifice his son because he saw Allah in a dream ordering him to do that, the world would view that person as a schizophrenic.  The significant aspect to understand is that every era of history had its own relevance and purpose.  From the time of Prophet Noah (pbuh) until the Final Messenger (pbuh) and in between Prophets Ibrahim, his sons and grandsons, then Prophet Moses, his brother Haroon, various other Hebrew prophets and Prophet Essa son of Virgin Maryam, a long stretch of probably 8,000 to 10,000 years (only Allah knows the exact duration) was the era of the prophets, when messengers chosen by Allah Almighty kept coming and going as ordained by The Almighty.  The people living in those times knew it and they never doubted the experiences of prophets. The era of the prophets was NOT the time of schizophrenics or psychopaths. And then, after the Final Messenger, Muhammed (pbuh), the era of prophethood ended.  He (pbuh) was the Seal of the Prophets.  There can be no prophets and thus no messengers bringing Divine Message now.  The era of the prophets is over. Anyone making such claims at present is a liar.  Just the same way as illnesses come with time and era.    We know this through what we have watched and experienced ourselves.  Covid suddenly came in December 2019.  It was never here prior to that.  SARS came and went away in 2004-2005.  It wasn't there before this period.   HIV AIDS suddenly arrived in 1981, it was unheard of prior to 1981.  There are also many other physical and psychological illnesses that never existed thousands of years in the past.  But they do now.  Schizophrenics didn't exist then, they do now.

MashAllah, excellent inputs.  Both posts by Sister Ruhi and Brother TS' father are so true containing the truth and nothing but the truth.

I request all our readers to carefully study this thread.  Many adults know just as little as children nowadays, unfortunately.

Indeed a very wise thread.   Allah bless you Sister Ruhi, brother TS and particularly you father, brother TS.

InshAllah, will send this around to family and friends with special request to pass on to their children.

We didn't go to the Masjid on this Eid al Adha as it was really difficult to get a place with too many wanting to register.  Of course, there were about 4 or 5 different sessions of Eid salat from 7 morning to 10.30 morning because Masjids are taking only one-third their capacity to facilitate social distancing.  Of course, mask wearing at all times, everyone to bring a plastic bag for their shoes and bring their own prayer mats.  Must do wudu at home for Masjid washrooms remain closed.  Attendees and the imam will only offer fard rakats.  Sunnah and nafl rakats to be offered at home.  Children below 12 not allowed and seniors and those with underlying health issues strongly recommended not to attend, to offer salat at home.

These restrictions are necessary and also makes us feel far from normal times.   So we thought it's better to stay home and do our Eid salat.   After each of our families offering Eid salat at home, we joined for the family khutba via zoom.  There's always a positive in every new arrangement.  This time we got a chance to focus on our kids' education on Eid al-Adha.   We also realized many children aren't clear of the difference in procedures of regular salat and Eid salat.  We explained that clearly in our family khutba on zoom which I mention briefly again as follows for the benefit of other children and readers of this thread.

Method of Eid salah:

Eid salat is optional, not fard, but is a humble traditional gesture and every Muslim should join the Eid congregation.

For Eid prayers (Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha) we are to offer 2 rakats in the standard method.  The only difference is the number of takbirs which has to be 12 times in total of 2 rakats.

Start prayer with niyah, recite Allah-o-Akbar raising your hands, then recite Subhanaka Allah huma, then say Auzubillahi Minash Shaitan rajeem ... then make 7 takbirs reciting Allah-o-Akbar, raising your hands with each takbir.  After 7th takbir recite Fatiha and recite a Surah.  After ruku and sujood of first rakat, say Allh-o-Akbar and stand up.  While standing for the second rakat, recite takbir 5 times.  Then offer the second rakat in the normal way and finish your salat.

Indeed these restrictions are necessary and we're glad our masjids are following them scrupulously.  InshAllah, we pray for normal times to return not too long after the arrival of some viable vaccines.  InshAllah, InshAllah.

Another very thoughtful information - method of Eid salat.  Of course we know it very well, but lot of kids don't and parents who take their children to the masjids for Eid prayers (as in normal times) often don't bother to explain the difference, the kids simply parroting their parents or the imam.

Thank you Sister Heba.
