Today at 05:37:22 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Salaam all.  Today is 1st Dhul Hijja 1443 (corresponding to June 30, 2022).  Day of Arafah will be on 9th Dhul Hijja (July 8th) and Eid-al-Adha on 10th Dhul Hijja (July 9th). Fasting on the Day of Arafah is not obligatory, however it's a good day to observe a nafl fast for those healthy enough to do so.  Insh'Allah.

Those of you who have recently been to Pakistan and are acquainted with its present problems of over-crowding, pollution, power outages etc. will enjoy seeing these pics.  The photos in the following link are of various places and landmarks of Pakistan during the late 1800 and early 1900s.  Make your comparisons of these places - now and then.  It's amazing how our planet changes with time.

Now enjoy the following slideshow.  This is how beautiful Pakistan used to be once upon a time ..

Well, I've lived in Pakistan only for a short time more than a decade ago.  Yet I thoroughly enjoyed browsing thru these old photos.  They have the typical 'olden day' touch and I'm sure it was so much more pleasant living then than now.
