 BismEm

Praise be to Allah (The Highest), and peace, love and blessings on the last Messenger and seal of the prophets
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many Muslims and non-Muslims who study Islam are overwhelmed by the number of Ahadith narrated by or attributed to Abu Hurayra.  The corruption that entered traditional Islam came through many false hadiths. Thousands of these hadiths were narrated by Abu Hurayra.  Next to the QURAN - the word of God Almighty - Abu Hurayra is looked upon as the second source for many religious matters for traditional Muslims.
Who is Abu Hurayra any way ?   The Noble Quran gives enough information to assert NO hadith but ONLY the Quran.  See Quranic verses  7:185, 45:6, 77:50, 39:23, 50:45......etc. for information.
Abu Hurayra, came from Yemen in the seventh year of Hijra and converted to Islam.  He stayed in the company of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) for less than two years
He narrated more than 5,000 ahadith (about 5,374 hadiths), after being in the Prophet's company for only 2 years.  Compare this with the few hadiths narrated by Aisha, Abu Baker, or Omar who had stayed in the Prophet's company for a much, much longer duration than Abu Hurayra.
Taken from a book titled 'Hadith Literature: It's Origin, Development, & Special Features' by Muhammed Zubayr Siddiqui:
 Abu Hurayra narrated 5,374 hadiths
 'Aisha Umm al-Mu'minin, 2,210 hadiths
 Umar Ibn al-Khattab, 537 hadiths
 Ali Ibn Abi Talib, 536 hadiths
 Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, 142 hadiths
Compare the numbers of Hadiths given by Abu Baker to those by Abu Hurayra while keeping in mind that Abu Baker accompanied our beloved Prophet for about 23 years, while Abu Hurayra was the Prophet's contemporary for less than 2 years.  142 hadiths for 5374 hadiths, respectively.
Most of Abu Hurayra's narrated hadiths are called the "Aahad" hadiths, i.e. hadiths only witnessed by one person.  That one person was Abu Hurayra himself (why is the rule of two witnesses for the truth, disregarded for the sake of Abu Hurayra?).
Some of the Prophets companions (Sahaba) accused him of being a liar, telling lies about the Prophet just to make up more hadiths and gain some status.  Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, the second righteous Caliph, warned Abu Hurayra that he would send him to exile if he did not stop narrating hadiths about the Prophet.  He did stop until Omar's assassination then started again.
He kept telling hadiths to please the Ommayad Khalifa, including the time he lived in the royal palace of Muawaya in Syria.  Abu Hurayra is reported to have told his audience that if he had mentioned such hadiths during the lifetime of Omar, he would be given several lashes.
Abu Jaafar Al Iskafy mentioned that the Khalifa, Muawaya, chose some of the people, including Abu Hurayra to tell fabricated stories and hadiths about Ali Ibn Abu Talib, the Prophet's cousin, to degrade him.  Abu Hurayra lived in Mu'aawiyah's royal palace then and served him, including serving his political views.  He produced some of the hadiths that demean Ali, insult him and make him look somewhat lower to Abu Baker, Omar and Othman, only for the pleasure of Mu'aawiyah.  Abu Hurayra's stomach was more important than the truth.
During Mu'aawiyah's rule, many hadiths, with the help of Abu Hurayra were invented that support the view that the Imam or Khalifa, should be obeyed just like God or His messenger, contradicting the rule of the Quran which flatly asserts that all matters must be decided by mutual  consultation. (Do not forget that Abu Hurayra was living in the Khalifa's royal palace at the time.)
Many of the hadiths that were narrated by Abu Hurayra contradict other hadiths, including his own narrated hadiths and those of others.  His narrations contradict the Quran and contradict common sense.
Abu Hurayra narrated hadiths after Kaab Al Ahbar, who was a Jewish convert and who tried to explain the Quran by using the corrupted books of the Jews.  He produced some of the most outrageous hadiths that is full of contradictions of the Quran, taken from altered and false stories in the Torah.
Islamic historians have told the story of Abu Hurayra after he was given the governorship of Bahrain by Omar bin Khattab, the second righteous Caliph.  Abu Hurayra got very rich in two years, so Omar called him back and told him, "You, the enemy of Allah, you stole the money of Allah.  I made you the Emir of Bahrain when you did not even have a pair of shoes.   Where did you get all this money (400,000 Dirham)??"  History indicates that Omar made him pay back 10,000 Dirham.  Abu Huraura admitted for only 20,000 Dirham.
Abu Hurayra was the one accused most of fabricating hadiths.  Aisha, the Prophet's wife and the mother of believers accused him of telling inaccurate or incomplete stories and of fabricating hadiths that she never heard the Prophet (pbuh) say.
AISHA AND ABU HURAYRA AT ODDS
In the famous book "Taa'oueel Mukhtalaf Alhadith " by Ibn Qutaiba Al-Dinory, the story of Aisha (the Prophet's wife) telling Abu Hurayra, "You tell ahadiths about the Prophet Muhammed that we never heard from him"
He answered (as Bukhary reported): "You (Aisha) were busy with your mirror and make up"  She (Aisha) answered him, "It is you who were busy with your stomach and hunger.  Your hunger kept you busy, you were running after the people in the allies, begging them for food, and they used to avoid you and get away from your way ....."
If we apply the supposedly rigid criteria used to select those who narrated hadiths, Abu Hurayra will be the first one to fail the test and his hadiths will be the first to be counted among the fabrications.
very interesting read.  actually it's absolutely no secret that abu hurayra was a very shady person.  his narrations for the purpose of getting favours from muawiyah fits very well into the analysis of kasim ahmad's artilce about political rivalry being one of the chief causes of the origin of hadith.  Omar bin Khatab's dislike for the lies of abu hurayra is also very well known.
Just as Hadith presents vast contradictions within itself as carefully scrutinized in the post Hadith contradicting Hadith, there have also been similar inside incidents of cheating, that is, hadith writers using each others' name to spread falsehood.
E.g.  the following is an interesting excerpt from an article of G.A. Pervez from his site Tolueislam.
Quote >>>
Hamam Ibn Mamba's Manuscript
What the religious scholars of hadith, after much struggle, have succeeded in discovering, has come down to us under the title of Hamam ibne Mamba's manuscript. This was published by Dr. Hameed ullah several years ago from Hyderabad (India). It is believed that Hamam ibne Mamba was the student of Abu HurairaR who died in hijra 131. In this manuscript there are 138 ahadith in total, which its author states were compiled before his teacher Abu Huraira. His teacher is believed to have departed from us in hijra 58. By other means we can say that this manuscript was compiled before hijra 58. We also notice that Imam Mamba writes these hadiths before hijra 58 in Medina and is able to obtain only 138 ahadith. Whereas in hijra 300 when Imam Bokhari decides to collect ahadith he gathers six hundred thousand. (Imam Humbal found 1,000,000 ahadith and Imam Yahya bin Moeen found 1,200,000 hadiths). Another fact we observe that those ahadith that have been confered upon Abu HurairaR amount to thousands, though his student was able to write only 138 ahadith. However, in the first century of the Islamic calendar, the sum total of all individual collection is Imam Mamba's 138 ahadith. There are no other written records of Holy Messenger's gospel belonging to that period of Islamic history.
Unquote >>>>
The above finding shows that Abu Huraira, whose reputation according to history doesn't appear to be the best, was further 'double-crossed' by many who came after him.  Abu Huraira died in 58 AH.  His student Hamam ibn Mamba died in 131 AH.  By 131 AH, Ibn Mamba had collected only 138 hadiths (of course these 138 hadiths had no reliable source, it was well into the Ommayad period).  Then, a little over 150 years late, in 300 AH, when Bukhari appears in the picture, he suddenly collects at least 600,000 (even more according to some researchers).  Now, just substract 138 from 600,000.  This would mean that in just 150 years there were 599,862 extra hadiths - that's well over half a million!!!!  Boy oh boy!!  what a large scale bungling, more like racketeering!
Apparently after the passing away of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the 4 righteous Caliphs, those who were in favor of writing and proliferating hadith had nothing to stop them anymore and they went haywire.  At present, the number of hadiths narrated by Abu Huraira are supposed to run into several hundreds if not over a thousand at least.  Obviously, his successors continued his trend of writing falsehood on his name.
Assalam alaykum and peace to all
Very informative input br. PT.  TolueIslam by G.A. Parvez looks to be a good site.  I'm in the process of exploring it.  In fact I'm studying a good article I found there on the status of Hadith.  I'm editing it a little i.e. shortening it for the convenience of readers which I hope to post shortly, InshAllah.  Thanks again for this info.  Wa'salaam / peace.
BismEm
 The Noble Quran gives enough information to assert NO hadith but ONLY the Quran.  See Quranic verses  7:185, 45:6, 77:50, 39:23, 50:45......etc. for information.
For the convenience of our readers, the above mentioned verses and a few more verses of the Noble Quraan are quoted for direct reference.
The underlined portions of the following verses refer to the importance of the Quran alone, and NO other book should be followed alongside with it.
Verse 7:185 (Surah Al-Araf)
"Have they not considered the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and what things Allah hath created, and that it may be that their own term draweth nigh ? In what fact after this will they believe ?"
Verse 45:6 (Surah Al-Jathiyah)
"These are the portents of Allah which We recite unto thee (Muhammad) with truth. Then in what fact, after Allah and His portents, will they believe ?"
Verse 77:50 (Surah Al-Mursalaat)
"In what statement, after this, will they believe ?"
Verse 39:23 (Surah Az-Zumar)
"Allah hath (now) revealed the fairest of statements, a Scripture consistent, (wherein promises of reward are) paired (with threats of punishment), whereat doth creep the flesh of those who fear their Lord, so that their flesh and their hearts soften to Allah's reminder. Such is Allah's guidance, wherewith He guideth whom He will. And him whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no guide."
Verse 50:45 (Surah Qaf)
"We are Best Aware of what they say, and thou (O Muhammad) art in no wise a compeller over them. But warn by the Qur'an him who feareth My threat."
Verse 69:43-47  (Surah Al-Haqqah)
"It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
And if he had invented false sayings concerning Us,
We assuredly had taken him by the right hand
And then severed his life-artery,
And not one of you could have held Us off from him."
(The above verses 69:43-47 are particularly important that refute all those ahadith invented by Bukhari etc. which falsely attribute narrations to the Prophet (pbuh) that either clash or contradict the Quran, and there are so many narrations of that category).
Verse 25:30 (Surah Al-Furqan)
"And the messenger saith: O my Lord! Lo! mine own folk make this Quran of no account."
(This wonderful verse 25:30 quoting the Messenger on the Day of Judgment is a great prophecy and a clear reference to the Hadith adhering people who have become totally distracted from the Quran in preference to the Hadith.  It's a warning for those imams and so-called leaders who go about telling the naive believers "not to read the Quran" but to come to them for tafsirs).
Verse 54:17 (Surah Al-Qamar)
"And in truth We have made the Quran easy to remember; but is there any that remembered?"
(Regarding the above verse I quote Brother Hafeez Kazi from Controversial History of Hadith [Part I] : "This exact, same verse is repeated in 54:22, 54:32 and 54:40. To enable mankind to take heed of the Quraan, God has made the Quraan easy to remember .... But once again the ulema also reject this verse from the Quraan. They do not believe that the Quraan can be understood easily without their 'second only to the Quraan' collection of fake Bukhari hadith.")
Verse 5:3  (Surah Al-Maidah)
"This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour unto you, and have chosen for you as religion al-Islam."
(This is a verse 5:3 is a very important one.  It's one of the last revelations of the Quran.  It's a summary about the perfection and independence of the Glorious Quran in the words of the Divine Power Himself which is constantly & rudely ignored by our imams and ulemas.  Please mark the words of this verse.  Why has Allah "completed" his favor unto us?  Because He has given us a "perfected" religion through the Quran.   And why does Allah refer to the Quran as 'perfect.'  Because it is totally comprehensive and it needs no additions nor substractions.  Yet, the ulemas insist that the Quran is not complete without the Hadith, that the Quran cannot be understood without the Hadith.
Quoting an excerpt from the same article of Br. Hafeez Kazi again as follows:
"Are we expected to believe that the Almighty Allah who created the universe, the sky, the animals and the humans will now have to depend on the complex debates between the ulema before the human being can understand the Quran - Allah's guidance for mankind?  Such arrogant boasts by the ulema can only arise from extreme kuffar." )
Verse 6:153  (Surah Al-An’am)
“And (He commandeth you, saying) : This is My straight path, so follow it  Follow not other ways, lest ye be parted from His way: This hath He ordained for you, that ye may ward off (evil)”
(Keeping the above verse 6:153 in mind, the enormity of the sin of putting Hadith along with the Quran, a practice that definitely distracts believers from the way of Allah [the Quran] and puts them onto a very different path is evident).
There are many more such verses in the Glorious Quran that totally prohibit us from following any other so-called book of guidance along with the Quran.   It's indeed unfortunate that majority of our ulemas just won't give up their mischief and insist upon placing the blasphemous writings of Bukhari by the side of the Quran.  AstaghfarAllah!  is all I can say.
Thank you sister.  This is a great post.  Don't know how I didn't read it for so long.  It's an excellent coverage of the cheat, Abu Hurayra's brief biography of playing games.  Of course, there's still a lot more than what this piece contains.  Omar bin Khattab is said to have disliked this man.
Those Quranic verses are especially helpful.  There are many, many more verses in the Quran that refute and contradict numerous specific Ahadith of Abu Hurayra.  I don't know when the Ummah will open their eyes and see this man for what he was.  Abu Hurayra was the same as one of those trouble-making, corrupt and opportunist politicians of today.
Great read!  Fanastic thread.
And you know why the Hadith resembles the Old & New Testaments?  One of the reasons I quote from Google Group article on Abu Huraira containing much the same contents as the original post here, plus ..
JazakAllah  khair MashAllah Sister
That's very informative and interesting indeed !! Hmm to be very honest It's sounds so Wearied that Among's the all Chalips and those who were very close and spend more time with the prophet Muhammad ( pbuh) they narrate only  a few but Abu huraira 's narration's are beyond the understandings and it's a big question mark  ? how many hadiths he narrated per day    Huh  how he did this every day ? He did nothing besides narrations   Undecided  Must say he was so dedicated Enemy of prophet Muhammad  (pbuh) i just wondered how he allowed himself to say everything which he has never even heard from prophet ( pbuh) .
Thank  u so much for this post Ur remarkable work have solved many of my confusions  across the mirror everything is so clear to see ,easy to understand the root of trash history abu huraira 's narrations replaced  the entire authentic history of islam ,he is the one who fills the structure of islam with altered ,torah and bibalic shit He copied . No doubt his narrations are very dark side of history ,his work presented the very ugly and distorted face of islam .. Sadly ,unfortunately Abu huraira 's willingly constructed islam has become religion of blind muslims ..  Ummah is following the Hadith based religion Not  the religion of Ibrahim (pbuh) which concerned to Quran only religion of Ibrahim(pbuh) have no concerned with Abu huraira's  narrations which carries only senseless information and false predictions to misguide ummah .. Angry
May Allah guide the ummah and keep us on right-path ,straight path The glorious Quran amen
lol ,, that's why Omar bin Khattab, the 2nd righteous Caliph, was reported to have said to Abu Huraira in a taunting manner that according to Abu Huraira it seemed the Prophet (sw) had no other work but to whisper Hadith in his ears.  Sis, also check that one titled "Abu Huraira or Paul."  It fully reveals this little thief who has ruined Islam.
Thank Allah for granting us the guidance and making us adhere to the Quran only otherwise we would also become like those other misguided ones following that crook, Mr. Huraira.
