Ablution

Assalamu alaykum, everyone. I hope the last days of Ramadan are going well for all of you.

I wanted to flag something my mother told me that she learned from her home country in the Middle East during her school days.
They were taught to perform ablution by saying these things (say Bismillah al rahman al rahim before each body part):

1. Oh Allah, let me drink from the water of Kawthar. (rinse mouth)
2. Oh Allah, let me smell the scents and bliss of heaven. (inhale water)
3. Oh Allah, whiten my face and my parents’ faces between Your hands with Your mercy, O Most Merciful. (wash face)
4. Oh Allah, give me the Book in my right hand. (wash right arm up to the elbow)
5. Oh Allah, do not give me the Book with my left hand, nor from behind my back, and do not tie it to my neck. I seek refuge in You from the fire cuts. (wash left arm up to the elbow)
6. Oh Allah, protect my hair and being from the fire; there is no shadow except your shadow, forgive my parents and I (lightly wash head)
7. Oh Allah, let me hear the voice of Bilal al-Habashi from the farthest reaches of Jannah (clean both ears)
8. Oh Allah, free my neck from the fire (wash neck)
9. Oh Allah, set my parents’ and my right foot steadfastly on the straight path (wash right foot up to ankle)
10. O Allah, set my left foot steadfastly in obedience to You, O Most Merciful (wash left foot up to ankle)

I'm just curious if any of you are aware of this method / process from your parents at all? I am aware that this is not mandatory to recite while performing the ablution and the Qur'an does not command this. Nevertheless, it is very purifying

Walaykum Salam.  No I don't know about this particular supplication during wudu.  There are many different supplications which different traditionalists advise to recite during ablution.  As you would know, the Noble Quran does not highlight any du'a to be offered during ablution and this practice is not mandatory.  Nonetheless, reciting a du'a at this time might be comforting for some as a source of peace of mind and heart as you rightly implied.  One simply needs to make sure that whichever du'a they recite during ablution is compatible with the values, principles and ideology of the Quran, the Sole Criterion.  If it's in conformity with the Sole Criterion, then one can recite it by all means, though I repeat, the Quran does not make it compulsory.
