 BismEm

There are some people, particularly those with some knowledge of Arabic, who talk of the Noble Quran only as a piece of literature. Their admiration of the Quran is simply linked to the beauty of its expressions. No doubt the beauty of the Quran's language is infinite and impossible for even the best of poets or writers to surpass. But let's not forget that there's much more to the Quran than its literary value.

The Almighty Allah has made it crystal clear that the Quran is a Lecture and a conclusive word, it's a Book of Divine commandments and dictates. It's a miracle that establishes the Truth, spreads wisdom and guidance and transforms ignorance to civilization. Though very beautifully worded, the Quran is not to looked upon as a poetical work nor a pleasantry. One needs to adopt a more serious and practical approach while appreciating the Quran. We need to reflect on the ideology, depth and purpose of those beautiful words rather than just enjoy the vocabulary and rhythm without reflecting on its moral lessons and practical implementations.

"And We have not taught him (Muhammad) poetry, nor is it meet for him. This is naught else than a Reminder and a Lecture making plain,
To warn whosoever liveth, and that the word may be fulfilled against the disbelievers."
(36:68)

"Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word,
It is no pleasantry." (86:13-14)

I too have often observed that many of those who can speak, read and write Arabic try to show off their expertise bragging what a lot they've understood of the Quran by making it seem like a Book of flowery language alone.  They ignore its actual value .. i.e. its laws, dictates and lessons for life.
