It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

......  And I am sure there's any need to discuss this with our imams or jurists at the masjid or community center.

lol ,, you think they'll ever agree particularly if they know you're right?  Grin  Absolutely no need to ask them.  The Quran is more than enough to ask from.

Very correctly stated brother TS.   That's exactly it.

After all, when we're not sure whether or not the time is right of Maghrib prayer, don't we look out of the window to access if we can still offer our Maghrib salaat? In the same way we can determine our Sahoor deadline and our Fajr prayer time.  What makes Fajr timing (and from that also the Sahoor deadline) easier to recognize is that the description of Fajr or dawn has been stated in the Noble Quran.

Ramadan 2017.  Today, 17th Ramadan.  Prayer calendar says Fajr 3.47 a.m. and traditionally we're expected to stop eating at this time.  How many of you finish Sahoor by 3.47 while it's yet pitch dark? while the Noble Quran says "And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]." (2:187).

We're all set Sis.  My husband and I are following it according to the Quran, don't care what the calendar says.  You're right, today's Fajr timing is approximately 3.45 or maybe 3.47 a.m.  Indeed it's pitch dark no different from midnight.  We have our sahoor until 4.15 or 4.20.  Yet it's dark.  White thread of dawn is still not visible.  At around 4.30 a.m. it starts getting just a wee bit visible.  We can actually eat until 4.30.  However, we stop at around 4.15 even though that too is early.

Good Sister Ruhi.  Just wanted to confirm that.  I usually finish by 4.05 or 4.10 a.m. though I know it's much before time.  I always look out of the window immediately prior to finishing my sahoor, before taking my last glass of water.  White thread of the dawn or the earliest glimmer of light is visible a little after 4.30 a.m.

Thanks Sis.
