Alhamdulilah, very illuminating piece of lecture.  The 2 most important points that resonated were

1) In the Quran religion is presented as spirituality plus practicality.  Thus there's no question of separating religion from our lives.

2) The concept of unity and complete superiority of the Almighty God is indispensible to grasp the essence of the Quran.  Without this, it will be hard if not impossible for one to comprehend even the purpose of the Quran.  And it's inherent of human nature that whenever they're unable to comprehend something within their own limited thoughts, the outcome is denial.

As for Harun Yahya, I must say, he seems to have 2 sides to him.  Some of his talks (like this one) are so enlightening that conform to the Truth in the Quran with very intelligent logic.  But certain of his writings / lectures go quite awry.  Just to pick one as an example, a couple of months ago I was reading one of his articles about the return of Mahdi, a topic not at all supported by the Quran.  All his arguments were based on Hadith and also the source of all his justifications for Imam Mahdi to return.  Of course I realize that many such scholars despite being aware of the follies of Hadith and its disagreement with the Quran prefer to keep silent for fear of being ostracized by the mainstream scholars.  Perhaps Yahya Harun is also trying to walk carefully on this fine line.

Thanks a pile for this great posting brother Aoh.    Salaams and peace! Smiley

Assamu alaikum brother / sister.

So good hearing from you! You are indeed right. It is very strange how Harun Yahya is going about things. He does seem to have two sides to him. The Qur'anic side with highly accurate intepretations of the Qur'an (arguments that seem to be based purely on Qur'an and even go against religion based on Hadith), and the all of sudden from no where, completely Hadith driven articles. Another article I read was on the importantce of Ahl-as-Sunnah, he even twisted many Qur'anic Verses there. It is as if someone else wrote it.

I was reading a piece on Mahdi by HY, it sounds like he thinks he is the Mahdi? Believe it or not! Very strange.

Recently, I noticed he is putting more and more Hadiths here and there, I think he is even editting older versions of productions to include Hadith when it was purely based on Qur'an. You're right, I dont think he wants to loose the Ahlus-Sunnah majority.

Take care.

Anyway, the stuff I posted here on the forums are extremely good and unique. I will continue to spread the good work he has done.

Yes .. I enjoyed this too, thoroughly.  At the same time I also agree with your views on YH.  I wonder if his website is open to comments.  I would very much like to request him to explain how, after understanding the Quraan so well, the next moment he takes a complete U-turn and embraces the Hadith.

I was reading a peace on Mahdi by HY, it sounds like he thinks he is the Mahdi? Believe it or not! Very strange.

LOL!  i guess he tries to cover-up many of the Hadith nonsense through philosophical theatrics.  This is actually quite an old trick.  For this reason these people have invented those bombastic terms like 'science of hadith' and its 'methodology' etc.  But if you ask them to explain these terms, they have literally nothing to say except that hackneyed story of 'isnad' that's full of holes.

Peace sister,

Hope everything is well with you by the grace of Allah.

I wonder along the same lines as you do about Harun Yahya.

You can watch some interviews of Harun Yahya (Adnan Oktar).

One very good one to watch is the one by Al-Jazeera. It can be found on their following site:  http://www.dunyadanyankilar.com/all_ing/all.html
