Title: Being behind a proxy
Post by: abbottonian on June 09, 2013, 02:59:10 pm
Assalam Alaikum
I am always behind a proxy because of the restrictions on YouTube here in Pakistan and whenever I want to visit Muslim Villa I get a message " Please contact the forum owner" and when I pause proxy protection I am able to log on.Is this Forum policy?
Thanks

Walaikum Salaam, brother.  We are not given any options from our forum provider to implement such default messages.  Obviously it's just a protocol message (or some kind of default procedure) that automatically kicks-in because of the proxy, and that's why when you pause the proxy you can log in.  Therefor, I don't think it's a problem if you are eventually able to log in.  I do know that many guests visit this forum through or behind proxies by checking the stats counter which gives the IP number of every user, and this is of course normal.  So, being behind a proxy is not uncommon.

Assalam Alaikum.
Thank you very much sister Zeynab for you reply I use proxy just because You Tube is banned here and the reason being the video "innocence of Muslims".Instead of logging a proper and logical protest our authorities have simply banned the site. What a defeatist attitude.May Allah provide them with enough wisdom to reply the transgressors in a befitting manner.
May Allah increase our knowledge of Glorious Quraan.
wsalam

True, they are complete defeatists.  They don't have the courage to respond to the violators because Pakistan is such a servile and puppet state of the West.  Instead the cowardly shortcut is to shut the site altogether.  Sad and shameful.

Yes, may Allah continue to increase our knowledge of the Noble Quran, ameen.

Walaikum Salaam.
