Maryam's mother, Hannah, was hoping to have a son, and dedicating him to the service of Allah Almighty.  Instead Allah delivered her of a daughter.  Allah made Maryam the most pious woman on earth.  According to the rules of the Mosiac community at that time, Maryam was not allowed to perform any such outdoor task as women were not permitted to do so.

Ace informed me that this is a part of a whole length movie on Virgin Maryam and sent me the links.  It's in 11 parts, each link of about 10 minutes.  The entire movie is of 110 minutes, that is, a little less than 2 hours.  I'm sure you'll enjoy it.  This is an Iranian production in English.
