August 01, 2022, 08:48:12 pm Ruhi_Rose: As-Salam Alaykum MV guests. Just a reminder how time flies. We're already in the Islamic new year of 1444 month of Muharram, a very tragic time of our history. May The Almighty grant Hussein bin Ali and his comrades the best spot in Paradise for their unflinching courage to uphold the values of the Final Message, The Noble Quran.  Please read our post Ashura - who was Hussein? Fasting on the Day of Arafah is not obligatory, however it's a good day to observe a nafl fast for those healthy enough to do so.  Insh'Allah.

I am sure you will enjoy this useful article by Brother Louay Fatoohi on the difference between "Quran" and "Mushaf."   Briefly, quoting Br. Fatoohi highlighting the difference, " “Qur’an” refers to the specific “revelation that was read to Prophet Muhammad” whereas the term “mushaf” denotes the “written form” of that revelation."

Br. Fatoohi also pointed out another difference considered by some traditionalists which like us, he too does not agree with.  Please check the following passage.  This, as Br. Fatoohi rightly says, is an incorrect concept which does not exist, therefore it has nothing to do with any difference between Quran and Mushaf.  The terms "Quran" and "Mushaf" are definitely interchangeable.

QUOTE
Many scholars also believe that Prophet Muhammad received Qur’anic verses that were later “withdrawn” by God. Those verses are considered by the scholars who accept this concept as part of the Qur’an. But these verses are not found in the mushaf, so they are considered as another difference between the Qur’an and mushaf. I do not share this view. I think the concept of withdrawn verses is based mainly on highly contradictory and completely unreliable extra-Qur’anic reports that were made up for a number of different reasons. As a result of accepting such reports as authentic, a couple of Qur'anic verses are then misinterpreted to try and show that they support this concept. As I do not think any verse of the Qur'an was ever withdrawn by God, I do not consider this a difference between the Qur’an and mushaf.
UNQUOTE

Brother Fatoohi's reference in the above paragraph regarding verses that were "withdrawn" refers to that old trick of abrogation which some so-called ulemas uphold to support the unauthentic Hadith narrations.

Please check the complete and brief article by visiting the link below.

The Difference Between "Qur'an" and "Mushaf"

Continue reading as follows please:

Drawing a wedge between Quran and Mushaf is another Hadith conspiracy based on utter dishonesty to uphold the credibility of spurious ahadith.  The level of mischief-mongering needs to be really high for an institution or entity to stoop as low as this! Quoting Brother Louay Fatoohi:  "The term “Qur’an” stands for verses that God revealed to Prophet Muhammad over 22 years. These revelations were compiled and written down in what is known as the “mushaf.” So the mushaf is the written record of the Qur’an. Most people, including many Muslims, use the terms “Qur’an” and “mushaf” interchangeably."

According to the myths and tales of the falsifying Hadith institution (Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Nasai, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawud and more) they claim the most ridiculous, that some Quranic Verses were ""withdrawn"" (commonly called ""abrogation"") by The Almighty and therefore some Quranic revelations are not included in the compilation (Mushaf).  It's a very nasty and calculating LIE that has been brilliantly exposed by Louay Fatoohi who writes "Exposing the inauthenticity of those hadiths and the non-historicity of abrogation while quoting the Qur’an itself, I will show that the mushaf has preserved every verse and word of the Qur’an that was revealed to Prophet Muhammad.

Please read Brother Louay Fatoohi's lecture in Kaula Lampur proving the Truth.  It's a PDF format but it load in the page very well.

Excellent read.  I would request everyone to go through it in your own time, gradually, as everything taken together is a lengthy read.  But it's worth knowing, every bit.

May the curse of The Almighty be on each mischief monger of the Hadith institution and Hadith culture who need to be brazenly lambasted and deserve zero respect.

Thank you for focusing on this topic, dear sister and brother.   Brother Louay Fatoohi has done a wonderful job of exposing the hadith liars.

I request our guests to please read these two links on the works of Brother Fatoohi.  It's really important.  If you cannot finish reading both links in a single day, no problem.  Spread it over a few days, but do please read so you can respond to the propaganda of Islamophobes who might pick this hadith falsehood to discredit the Noble Quran .. a 'strategy' which Islamophobes commonly follow.
