"Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat
And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now) ?
And he knoweth that it is the parting;
And agony is heaped on agony;
Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving."

(75:26-30) Surah Al-Qiyamah

This is an excellent reminder for every contrite heart.

It is a situation everyone (without an exception) must face.  With some it might last for a few brief moments, with others it might prolong a bit more.  But every king and every beggar will experience it with the same helplessness.  As for the poor beggar, he or she would probably die without anyone noticing them.  But in the case of the king or queen, their most trusted and knowledgeable medical professionals might keep striving to save them but to no avail, once the person they're trying to save reaches that doorstep of no return - the pangs of death.

The verses that follow 75:26-30 further describe the plight of the guilty after death.  But the contents of verses 75:26-30 will be experienced by all.
