BismEm

"Thinks man that We shall not assemble his bones ?
Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers!"
75:3-4  Surah Al-Qiyamah

Some commentators have interpreted these verses as a reference to every human being having different fingerprint lines on their finger tips.  I've read this interpretation in a couple of sites.  But I don't perceive any direct reference to fingerprint lines.  Any comments?

"And sun and moon are united,"   75:9  Surah Al-Qiyamah

The above verse which is one of the descriptions of the happenings of the Last Day, does this carry a literal meaning of the sun and moon merging together?

"Thinks man that We shall not assemble his bones ?  Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers!"
75:3-4  Surah Al-Qiyamah

While only Allah knows best, I we cannot confirm that it specifically refers to fingerprint lines on finger tips.  In my opinion it's a part of the description of recreation of the physical body when it's united with the soul on the Day of Judgement which is one of the great miracles of Allah.  It reflects that every bit of the physical remains will be assembled and recreated as it was before.  This certainly and automatically includes the unique fingerprints of every person being recreated too.   So, I think it means much more than just the fingerprints.

"And sun and moon are united,"   75:9  Surah Al-Qiyamah

The sun and the moon being united likely refers to the collision of the sun and the moon on the Last Day.  I would think the reference is to the complete destruction of the sun and the moon (which would have completed their term by then).  And only Allah knows the precise interpretation.

A similar reference of a return of the dead back to life is also found in the following verses of the same Surah, verses 75:36-40.

"Thinks man that he is to be left aimless ?
Was he not a drop of fluid which gushed forth ?
Then he became a clot; then (Allah) shaped and fashioned
And made of him a pair, the male and female.
Is not He (Who does so) Able to bring the dead to life ?."
