Reflections on the Noble Quraan


The purpose of the Divine Scripture is for people to know about it, read it and understand it.  Only then will they realize the importance and need of implementing it in their lives.  That's how the Divine Message becomes a part of our practical life, not a separate sphere.  Before the Glorious Quraan, when the Almighty Allah revealed the former Scriptures to the People of the Book, He had already commanded them to spread the original Message around.  But unfortunately, they didn't do as instructed.  They either ignored it or changed it, and thus brought about the concept of separating religion from practical life.  As believers and Muslims, it's incumbent upon us to avoid making this mistake.  The best way to explain and interpret the Noble Quraan at present times would be either through personal websites, or dawah classes (i.e. invitation to people to attend lectures on the Quraan), or by distributing copies of the Quraan (mostly translations).

"And (remember) when Allah laid a charge on those who had received the Scripture (He said): Ye are to expound it to mankind and not to hide it. But they flung it behind their backs and bought thereby a little gain. Verily evil is that which they have gained thereby."  (3:187)  Al-Imran
