Excellent reminder Sis.   Only the rash, selfish illiterates would prepare to participate in this B.S.

Insh'Allah we'll be starting dinner in a while.  Then offer Isha.  Then watch the news on television for about 30 minutes.  And then everyone off to their cozy, warm beds for an 8-hour sleep to awaken in time for offering Fajr.  Whether it's 2020 or 2021, that's no big deal just as long as it's another day with the blessings of Allah The Almighty.

This is a temporary world where hours, days, weeks, months and years keep moving ahead constantly regardless of circumstances.  Just as a new day or a new month is no big deal, neither is a new year.

Just stay focus on strengthening your iman and improving your amal.  These will be the only personal belongings you'll carry with yourself on the day of your Final Journey.   And each moment the clock ticks forward, the time for that Journey comes a step closer.

A very needful reminder for the world.    That crazy party animals' evening is approaching again.  Plus the pandemic.   My earnest advise to Muslims, please STAY HOME ... this new year's eve and all future ones.

Here's another tragedy from the NYE celebrations in Rome, Italy, Dec.31-Jan.1 2020-2021.

Hundreds of birds were found dead in Rome, Italy, after new year fireworks. Some sources surmise they may have died of fright from the loud sounds and flashy lights of fireworks. After all, birds are very prone to heart attacks in situations they perceive fearful, just as humans are. During 2020/2021 the fireworks in Rome were unusually loud and widespread. But there can be another reason too, which is still more likely. Fireworks consist of a tube with a mix of explosive chemicals. Colors, sounds and noise come from an amalgam of chemicals. Manufacturers may change the combination of chemicals for "better" display.  It's likely they used more harmful chemicals this time.

Most of the birds were the beautiful starlings scattered lifeless all over the ground near Rome's major train station. There's a leafy neighborhood in this area well known for the nesting place of many birds.

How tragic!   Will humans ever learn to be selfless, preferring humanity above their destructive desires? Another reason to say shame on NYE celebrations.

Indeed tragic ... heart-wrenching.

Probably because Italy had one of the highest infection rate and death toll from Covid19 in 2020 (and may continue through 2021), so the people thought of making up for it with a celebration wilder/louder than usual.  That's what happens to the minds of humans that are devoid of Faith, devoid of the thought of Allah.   To acquire peace, they go the wrong direction .. to correct a wrong they take a step that's still more destructive.

As-Salam Alaikum dear folks.  Reminder!  With 2022 approaching in the secular calendar, avoid the traditional new year celebration of December 31.  Regardless of circumstances, just stay home;  have dinner, offer Isha and go to sleep for a better tomorrow.  For information, read the principal post of this thread on page 1.

A much needed reminder at this time of every year.   Those who have worked hard all year to turn their lives around for the better need to stay there and not take chances of losing it through base temptations.

I watched Abdullah Hakim Quick's video again this evening.   I observed this time, in the Q&A someone form the audience sent a question about the origin of Hajj.  The intention seemed cynical in an attempt to compare it with the origins of Christian festivals.  The questioner was apparently not knowledgeable and had obviously never read  the Noble Quran.   Since Makkah was under the rule of the idolaters prior to the coming of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and those idolaters used to perform their own pilgrimage in the Kaa'ba, that ignorant questioner presumed that the Quranic dictate of Hajj originates from the pre-Islamic people of Makkah.  NOTHING COULD BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH.

For the information of our readers who may want to know:  The Kaa'ba in Makkah was constructed by Prophets Ibrahim and his older son, Ismail (peace on them both) much before the coming of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).  Prophet Ibrahim lived up north in the region of Palestine but he settled his son Ismail in Makkah and periodically visited him.  That's when they built the Kaa'ba together and successfully spread the message of Monotheism in Makkah.  We can assume that some or several residents of Makkah became Muslims and they came to the Kaa'ba to worship Allah, The One God.  After the passing of Prophets Ibrahim and Ismail, gradually the people of Makkah got deviated from Monotheism.  By the time Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) came, the people of Makkah had deviated completely and became polytheists.  They placed hundreds of idols inside the Kaa'ba.  One of the most important tasks of the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) mission in spreading Islam was to rid the Kaa'ba of all those idols and restore it again as a place of Monotheistic worship like before.  By the Mercy and Help of Allah Almighty, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) succeeded in his mission 10 years after migrating to Medinah, when Makkah was finally conquered without a fight and without shedding a drop of blood.  That's when the idols were thrown out of the Kaa'ba and the Muslims got it back for Monotheistic worship.  Therefore in the Noble Quran, Allah Almighty commanded all believers from all parts of the world to perform Hajj in Makkah if they had the resources.  Thus Muslims try their best to perform Hajj or Umrah at least once in their lifetime.

The origin of Hajj is very, very Monotheistic.  It is a command directly from Allah The Almighty, The ONE and ONLY.   Those Christian celebrations originated from polytheism and remained there.   But in regard to the Kaa'ba where Hajj is performed, is the opposite.  It was built for Monotheistic worship.  Over centuries the idolaters corrupted the Monotheistic worship in the Kaa'ba.  The Final Messenger (pbuh) again restored Monotheistic worship in the Kaa'ba as before and cleared away the filth of idols.

"And say: Truth has come and falsehood has vanished away. Indeed! falsehood is ever bound to vanish."  17:81 Al-Isra.

The above Verse refers directly to restoration of the Kaa'ba for Monotheistic worship as it was during the time of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail.  The Prophet (pbuh) recited this Verse while getting rid of all the idols in the Kaa'ba.

Of course yes, and that's wonderfully explained brother.   I missed out that point in Q&A though I did watch the entire video.  I'll check again, Insh'Allah.    That questioner must have been really stupid.
