As-Salam Alaykom everyone.   I don't recall if I mentioned, our weekly discussions are now monthly because of the pandemic .. and of course on Zoom.  One of the participants was saying the other day that if two people go to Jannah who did not get along well with each other in this dunya, Allah Almighty will admit them in different parts of Jannah very far from each other so they will never see one another and won't have to worry about mending fences.   I told him he forgot Verses 7:42-43 where Allah says He will remove the bitterness and resentfulness towards one another that some dwellers of Paradise may have had in their hearts for each other in the temporary dunya.  He didn't know what to say and started mincing his words.  I don't know why people confidently tell their own stories on matters which Allah has already explained and confirmed differently.

"But (as for) those who believe and do good works - We tax not any soul beyond its scope - Such are rightful owners of the Garden. They abide therein.   And We remove whatever rancour may be in their hearts. "    7:42-43  Al-Araf.

You responded very thoughtfully brother, Mash'Allah.

... that if two people go to Jannah who did not get along well with each other in this dunya, Allah Almighty will admit them in different parts of Jannah very far from each other so they will never see one another and won't have to worry about mending fences.   ....

That's the way one might plan to make peace between two irreconcilable, antipathetic or antagonistic individuals on earth.  In Jannah, The Almighty has the resources to handle it in a very different way, by attuning their souls and removing the bitterness they formerly had for each other.

Indeed Jannat is very, very vast (Ref. V.3:133).   If Allah wants He can easily keep them apart in separate parts of Paradise so they never see each other.   But lack of harmony, discord and opposition are the type of traits that won't exist in Paradise.   Alhumdulilah.

Exactly Sister.   Very correct.

From where did he get the idea that those who don't get along well on earth will be placed far apart in from each other in Jannah, if they go there?     A hadith or a fatwa?

hah ha  .. I was also thinking the same when he said it.  But couldn't think of any extra-Quranic source that says this.   I guess it was his own idea.
