As-Salaam Alaikum dear everyone.  Monday was 12 Rabi al Awwal, 1443.   It's the birthdate of the beloved Final Messenger (pbuh).  Please  recite the Fatiha and then the durood in remembrance of this tremendous personality and the chosen slave of Allah, The Almighty.

The Beautiful Fatiha (1st Chapter of the Noble Qur'an)

1. In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
2. Praise be to Allah, Rab of the Worlds,
3. The Beneficent, the Merciful.
4. Master of the Day of Judgment,
5. You (alone) we worship; You (alone) we ask for help.
6. Show us the straight path,
7. The path of those whom You have favored; Not the (path) of those who earn Your anger nor of those who go astray.

----------------------

Durood:  (Extra-Quranic du'a for the Prophet [pbuh])

O Allah, bestow Your favor on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad as You have bestowed Your favor on Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.

Walaykom As-Salam Sister Zeynab.   Indeed this is such a happy day, Alhumdulilah.  We cooked special food and sent half of it to an orphanage.  May Allah Almighty accept our good deeds, ameen.   We also had a big virtual gathering on Zoom with extended family and friends of about a hundred people.  We recited Quran Verses with interpretation, and then discussed Islamic History.  In normal times we would have this celebration in-person.  But with Covid19 still around, a group of hundred is too big a crowd to meet safely even though almost all of them are fully vaccinated.  Yet, there are no guarantees, except from Allah, and Allah helps those who help themselves.

For those guest readers who would like to know a little more about the history and significance of Mawlid an-Nabi, please read and share the following contents and pics.

Of course, the practice of celebrating Mawlid is certainly not in the Noble Quran.  However, it's a fine Halal gesture of love and respect for the beloved Final Messenger (pbuh).   Thus, every year millions of Muslims across the world mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).  This celebration is called Mawlid an-Nabi, or Eid Milad.  In majority of Muslim countries it's a national holiday, except for a few of those Muslim countries which have deviated in either extremes - becoming hardcore secularists or following hardcore Wahabism.  But by far the majority of Muslim states - private homes, government offices and streets - are often lighted and decorated.  Food and sweets are distributed in public places and fairs are held for the enjoyment of kids.  Masjids celebrate with lectures and presentations recounting the Prophet's (pbuh) biography.  There are similar commemorations in private homes with guests, followed by special meals.  If you want to learn about the life of the Prophet (pbuh), attending Mawlid discussions and talks in 12th Rabi-al-Awal is a good opportunity to know about the beloved Final Messenger (pbuh).
