Will the earth remain physical after Qiyamah? V.30:25 (Ar Rum)

"And of His signs is that the heaven and earth remain by His command. Then when He calls you with a [single] call from the earth, immediately you will come forth."  30:25 Ar-Rum.


As-Salam Alaykum my dear folks.  In the above Verse, The Almighty states that on the Day of Judgement when He calls us (resurrection), we will come or emerge from the earth.  Can this be taken as a reference that the earth will still remain physically after Qiyamah ?

Walaikum As-Salam sis.   Yes, that could be the reference, though only Allah knows best.   Qiyamah will destroy every living being in this world and its entire infrastructure turning the earth like in primitive times. "Indeed! We have placed all that is on the earth as an ornament thereof that We may try them: which of them is best in conduct.  And indeed! We shall make all that is thereon a barren mound."  18:7-8 Al-Kahf.  It is very likely that the sun and the moon will no more be there either.  After all, Allah has clarified that the sun and the moon are running their term for a destined period (ref. Verses 35:13, 31:29, 39:5) and that destined time could be the Last Day which is primarily the Last Day for all living beings in this world.  But only Allah knows best if the destined period of the sun and the moon is the same as that for humans and other living beings - the Last Day or Qiyamah. 

Additionally I would like add:

In the first line of V.30:25 starting from the preceding Verse 30:24, The Almighty gives an outline of how firmly he controls the heavens and the earth.  This is worth reflecting and knowing, reminding us that there is NO blind faith in Islam.  Islam supports science encouraging us to ponder, contemplate and think carefully, rationally and logically over HIS creations.   Quoting Maududi:  "On the one hand, points to the life of the Hereafter, and on the other, proves that Allah exists, and there is One Allah only Who is controlling the earth and the heavens. Countless creatures of the earth live on the products that come out from the earth. These products depend on the productivity of the earth. The productivity depends on the rain, whether it falls directly on the earth or takes the form of underground water channels or springs or wells, or freezes on the mountains and then flows down in the form of rivers. Then the rain depends on the heat of the sun, the change of seasons, atmospheric changes in temperature, circulation of the winds, and on the lightning. The establishment of a harmony and proportion between different things existing from the earth to the sky, their becoming favorable and subservient to a variety of aims and objects for millions and billions of years cannot be the product of mere chance. Has it all happened without the all-embracing will and plan and wisdom of a Fashioner and Designer?  And is this not a proof of the fact that only HE is the Creator of the earth, the sun, the water, the heat and coolness?  If His Command does not sustain them even for a moment, the entire system should break down at once."
