Salaam dear everyone.  Unfortunately some folks among hadithists have stooped as much as this, plagiarizing the Words of the Noble Quran in the name of a hadith writer / compiler.

I was shocked to see someone putting up the following poster on Pinterest.

Needless to explain, we all know very well that Verse 21:87 (also known as Ayat-e-Karima) is one of the most powerful supplications of the Noble Quran for forgiveness from Allah Almighty and seeking relief from stress.  Verse 21:87 is the supplication offered by Prophet Yunus (also known as Zun-nun) in distress begging for the forgiveness of Allah Almighty as quoted by The Almighty Himself.  Subhan'Allah.

Now, if you observe the Pinterest poster above, quoting Verse 21:87, you will notice in a moment that the user has formatted this poster in such a way as to convey the misinformation that these words are of Tirmidhi.

The complete Tirmidhi hadith # 3505 is as follows:
"Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Sa`d narrated from his father, from Sa`d that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The supplication of Dhun-Nun (Prophet Yunus) when he supplicated, while in the belly of the whale was: ‘There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory to You, Indeed, I have been of the transgressors. (Lā ilāha illā anta subḥānaka innī kuntu minaẓ-ẓālimīn)’ So indeed, no Muslim man supplicates with it for anything, ever, except Allah responds to him.”

But in the poster, after quoting the Quranic du'a "La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz zalimin"  .... instead of mentioning the Quran Verse number 21:87, the Pinterest user mentions "Tirmidhi: 3505" as if Ayat-e-Karima is from Tirmidhi.  Readers who don't know much about Islam will assume that these are the words of Tirmidhi.  This is real cunning manipulation, and shame on this Pinterest user for such evil trickery, plagiarizing the beautiful Words of the Noble Quran attributing them to the hadith writer, Tirmidhi.   May Allah Almighty deal with such people on the Day of Judgment.  Ameen.

Ya Allah, this is completely below the belt.    This pinterest user is trying to show that he has quoted two ahadith in this poster, one from Tirmidhi and other from al-Fawaid.   Absolutely astonishing.  Well, the second narration quoted is from Ibn Qayyim as al-Fawaid has compiled many phrases by Ibn Qayyim or in his name.  But the first one which is Verse 21:87 being touted as "Tirmidhi 3505" is a pathetic manipulated theft, copying the Words of Allah in the name of some one else.  A major sin.  Whoever this pinterest user is, he (or she) will have to answer some difficult questions on the Day of Judgment and face the consequences.  Insh'Allah.  Ameen.

Isn't this shocking?    That's why I say, never trust the human conscience.  It can do the most transgressive thing imaginable and yet presume it's done nothing wrong.

I seek refuge in Allah The Greatest, The One and Only, from all such misguidance of the human mind.

Ameen to the du'a may Allah deal with such folks.

Wa'salam ..

This trickery is very poor taste by the person who derived this dishonest idea.  And Allah The Almighty is Watching for sure.  Ameen.

Thank you for putting it up Sister Zainab.
