August 01, 2022, 08:48:12 pm Ruhi_Rose: As-Salam Alaykum MV guests. Just a reminder how time flies. We're already in the Islamic new year of 1444 month of Muharram, a very tragic time of our history. May The Almighty grant Hussein bin Ali and his comrades the best spot in Paradise for their unflinching courage to uphold the values of the Final Message, The Noble Quran.  Please read our post Ashura - who was Hussein? June 30, 2022, 05:37:22 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Salaam all.  Today is 1st Dhul Hijja 1443 (corresponding to June 30, 2022).  Day of Arafah will be on 9th Dhul Hijja (July 8th) and Eid-al-Adha on 10th Dhul Hijja (July 9th). Fasting on the Day of Arafah is not obligatory, however it's a good day to observe a nafl fast for those healthy enough to do so.  Insh'Allah.

Asalaam alaikum

"do not yield to any contemptible swearer, to any backbiter, slander-monger"
"Woe to every fault-finding backbiter, who amasses riches, counting them over, thinking they will make him live for ever."
"Believers, if a troublemaker brings you news, check it first, in case you wrong others unwittingly and later regret what you have done"
(Haleem's translation)

Recently, some events I have witnessed have made me more fine-tuned to slander and the damage of a person's reputation. I was taken aback by how easy these people can regurgitate a lie against this person and repeat it as though it is fact and truth without questioning this person's moral character in such a public setting. I feel angry. This person is the antithesis of what they say she is. Although this slander is not against me personally, it hurts to see such cruel injustice. There are lots of good people in this world who have their reputations smeared by malicious backbiters, but inshallah, I always hope and pray for Allah's hand in justice.

I just have lots of anger about this, and I wanted to vent my feelings. I hope this is okay. Please delete this post if it is irrelevant.

Walaykom Salam.   Well yes, it's very distressing when innocent people are slandered.  However we don't know the exact situation concerning your post, so cannot comment further.

Would appreciate if the Surah and Ayat numbers of Quranic Verses quoted are mentioned in future.  For information of guest readers the Verses quoted above are from Surah Al Qalaam 68:8,  Surah Al Humazah 104:1-3 and Surah Al Hujurat 49:6.
