Rose Petals for Garnishing, Cooking, and Rose Tea

Generally I would say no.  Sprinkling only the white elderflowers as décor over a cake is okay but in very small amounts.  The stuff is a bit controversial. Elderberries can be eaten only after fully ripe and cooked.  Never eat uncooked elderberries.  These berries carry cyanide for sure though the cyanide evaporates quite fast in slightly above room temperature.  If you dry the berries or roast them, that should remove the toxic content.  Elderflower leaves and stems must NEVER be eaten, not even in small quantities. These are very toxic.   Since we already have a vast list of risk-free floral edibles, in my opinion, to be on the safe side just avoid elderflowers / berries as well.

Another query from is sister who really liked this post 😀   They say that honey comes in several different shades from almost transparent white to dark amber and many shades in between.   The two commonest shades sold in stores are light amber and dark amber.  Which one would be better to use in rose and lemon tea, and what’s the reason of these differences in color?

As observed, darker honey is richer in nutrients.  However, if you are using it to sweeten herbal tea, you may opt for the lighter one so the natural color of herbal tea such as rose and lemon changes to the minimal.  To know the reason for the varying colors of honey, one needs to look to the source, that is, the kind of flowering plants the bees visit to collect nectar required to produce honey for their hives.   The colors derived from the flowering plants will affect the color of the honey produced.

If I wanna add frothy milk with my cup a rose tea, do I prepare the milk by putting it in the blender like for making milkshakes?

No, I would suggest use a hand blender, electric or manual.  Electric would of course be better and faster.  Slightly warm the half and half in a large, deep pot. Place the electric hand blender in the milk, making sure the blades are immersed. Turn the blender on low, and blend until fairly frothy.   You can also use a manual hand blender but will take longer to froth.
