Imagine, IF such a label was given to a non-Muslim community in a Muslim country ....






Salam dear all.  This is a modern photo taken from Pinterest of an Algerian woman in her courtyard home in Algeria wearing the traditional Algerian jewelry, khit-e-rouh, around her forehead, with a mortar and pestle crushing spices and dry fruits.  The Image is captioned “Nafri woman.”  Check the Pinterest link please.   Do you know the story behind the term “Nafri?”  Nafri is a term that has been used internally by the German police since 2013 to refer to young men of North African origin. It is an abbreviation of  a German expression  ‘NordAFRikanischer Intensivtäter” which translates to ‘North African intensive offender.’  German police refer to all North African immigrant men as “Nafris.”   The generalization has gone so far that now even North African women in their own country are supposedly “Nafris.”   Needless to say, such brazen racism / racial profiling and sick judgementalism displayed by the German police has NO room in modern civilization.

Wa'salaam.   If such a title had been given to a non-Muslim or minority community in a Muslim country, it would have spread around the globe like wildfire.  If Iran had given this sort of title to one of its minority communities, it would have been enough reason for America to bomb Iran.

Sickness of the human mind and its contradictory standards have no bounds.

In new year's even of 2013 a handful of young North African guys committed some hooliganism in Cologne, and the locals blew it out of all proportion to the extent that since then every male Muslim immigrant was tarred with the same brush dubbed as "nafri."  And yes, now women and children are also referred to as "nafris."  This word is also getting common outside Germany.  A lot of non-German people who use this term don't know its precise definition.  Yet they use it, not even bothering to verify what it means.  But I guess even if they knew what it meant, that wouldn't have changed their attitude.
