It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

As-Salam Alaykum everyone.

As we know according to ahadith, there are plenty of stories about Isra and Meraj, all coming from Bukhari’s imagination with absolutely NO  conformity with the Noble Quran.  One of his fabricated stories claim Angel Jibreel has “600 wings.”

While Allah Almighty has confirmed in His Noble Final Message that angels have wings which could be two, three or four in Verse 35:1, Bukhari contradicts it with an unwarranted story that during the journey of Isra the Prophet (pbuh) saw Angel Jibreel with 600 wings. Furthermore, the hadith lovers justify Bukhari’s gossip by misinterpreting a sentence from Verse 35:1.

Let us take a close look at Bukhari's disinformation.

Quoting V.35:1 as follows:

“Praise be to Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who appointed the angels messengers having wings two, three and four. He multiplies (or increases) in creation what He will. Indeed! Allah is Able to do all things.”  35:1  Surah Fatir.

Below are the extra-Quranic sources upholding Bukhari’s fabrication of Angel Jibreel having 600 wings:

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 54, Number 455:
Narrated Abu Ishaq-Ash-Shaibani: I asked Zir bin Hubaish regarding the Statement of Allah: "And was at a distance Of but two bow-lengths Or (even) nearer; So did (Allah) convey The Inspiration to His slave (Gabriel) and then he (Gabriel) Conveyed (that to Muhammad). (53.9-10) On that, Zir said, "Ibn Mas'ud informed us that the Prophet had seen Gabriel having 600 wings."

Some tafsir from Tanvir al-Miqbas quoting Ibn Abbas misinterpreting Verse 53:17 of Surah An-Najm, quote:  “(The eye turned not aside) the sight of Muhammad  [pbuh] did not turn right or left because of what he saw (nor yet was overbold) due to what he saw, he saw that Gabriel had 600 wings.”   Thoroughly inaccurate tafsir of V.53:17.

Ibn Kathir (another falsifier who could never understand the Quran) says: "Among them (angels) are some who have two wings, some have three and some who have four. Some have more than that, as stated in the Hadith mentioning that the Messenger of Allah saw Jibril, peace be upon him, on the Night of the Isra with six hundred wings." (From: Abridged, Darussalam Publishers & Distributors, 2000, vol. 8, p. 120).  According to Ibn Kathir, while The Almighty creates angels with two, three or four pairs of wings, He has the power to increase this further and is not restricted at all.  He says this by misinterpreting the second sentence of V.35:1 “He multiplies (or increases) in creation what He will.”  Needless to say, Allah Almighty has the power to expand or increase His creations any time and however much He pleases.   But this sentence of V.35:1 does not refer to increasing the number of wings of angels.  It refers to the complete creation of all existence in the heavens and the earth by The Almighty as stated at the start of V.35:1.  Anyone who reads the full Verse 35:1 (which I quote again as follows), will understand it clearly and simply.

“Praise be to Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who appointed the angels messengers having wings two, three and four. He multiplies (or increases) in creation what He will. Indeed! Allah is Able to do all things.”  35:1  Surah Fatir.

How can anyone be so ignorant or careless to presume the underlined words in V.35:1 as an allusion to the wings of angels?   Allah has already confirmed the description of a particular creation – the angels – and HE has given us no reason to conclude nor presume that His description is incomplete.

Among other excuses picked by Hadith followers to explain Bukhari’s tales is that Angel Jibreel may have changed his form when the Prophet (pbuh) saw him.  Why would the Angel Jibreel want to change his form at that moment is something for which the hadith adherents have no answers.   Another excuse claims that since Angel Jibreel is “unique” so he may be different from other angels having 600 wings.  That’s how much their guesswork in support of Bukhari matters to them in preference to the Words of Allah.

Hadith followers openly claim Angel Jibreel having 600 wings as a “confirmation” while ignoring the information already given in the Quran V.35:1.  According to them, the number of angels’ wings as stated by The Almighty is not a confirmation, but Bukhari’s story-telling of 600 wings is a confirmation.  May Allah Azawajal save all believers from such misguidance.

It's one of the many hadith tales of the Prophet's Night Journey.  Someone should ask the Hadith fans that even if the Prophet (pbuh) saw Angel Jibreel with that many wings, how did he (pbuh) know at a glance that the number of wings was 600?  One can read or count two, three or four wings by looking for a minute or two.  But how can any human being see that many wings (or anything for that matter) and immediately know the correct number so confidently claimed by Bukhari's forgery.

I have also read this from Bukhari which is thoroughly unsupported by the Noble Quran.  It is yet another example of the human tendency that instead of turning away from man-written tales and holding on to the Quran only, people prefer to hold on to human tales and manipulate / distort the explanation of Quranic Verses to support those human tales.

Brother TS' point was very good.  The Prophet (pbuh) was a human being;  he didn't have any supernatural perceptions.  Considering that the Quran does not support this story, how would he (pbuh) perceive the count of 600 wings in a few seconds just by looking angel Jibreel.  But most importantly, The Almighty has already described the Prophet's (pbuh) vision of Angel Jibreel when he (the Prophet) saw Jibreel at Cave Hira and then again a second time during the journey of Mairaj near the lote tree.  Reference Verses 53:6-18 Surah An-Najm.  Also refer to our post There is no hardship in religion / Description of Mairaj.  Allah Almighty never mentioned, not even hinted, that Jibreel appeared with 600 wings nor the Prophet (pbuh) seeing the angel Jibreel with 600 wings.

When our sheikhs and ulemas speak on this subject before their audience, the melodrama of their mannerism is worth watching and asking for refuge in Allah Almighty to save us from getting carried away by the fibs they learned in those so-called Islamic universities in the 20th century Arabian peninsula.

Exactly, those Verses of Surah An-Najm speak in depth of Angel Jibreel appearing before the Prophet (pbuh) on two occasions.  No mention of the Prophet (pbuh) seeing 600 wings nor any references to Angel Jibreel showing 600 wings.

The point is, everyone knows the unlimited ability of The Almighty that if He wants He can create 600 wings or even 6 million wings in an angel. But when the Divine Power does not speak on a certain aspect, why paint stories of His creations when the actual facts of those creations are only known to Him alone?

lol .... I saw a lecture on this by Sheikh Yassir Qadhi ... and then there is that notorious critter, Mufti Menk. That melodramatic mannerism is an attempt to appear like the Christian pastors and priests when they speak, enacting a full drama before the audience.

True brother and sister.   And ..Hadithist sheikhs trying to copycat Christian pastors is also an event when both are mesmerized over fibs from similar sources - Hadith and altered Bibles.  As everyone knows, the counterpart of the altered Bibles (old and new testaments) is the Hadith, NOT the Noble Quran.
