What is the Quranic information on the death of Prophet Musa?  I know the Quran describes the Exodus.  Does this also finally include the passing of Prophet Musa after completing his mission?

There are no details in the Quran nor any references in regard to when or how Prophet Musa and his brother Harun (peace on them both) passed away.

We have learned from the Noble Quran that the Exodus of the Israelites took place from Egypt at the command of The Almighty, supervised by Prophet Musa to escape the tyranny of Pharaoh.  The Israelites left Egypt, their original home, in the thousands.  For sometime during their journey they lived in the wilderness of the Sinai region adjacent to the northern borders of Arabia and the southern borders of Palestine.  It was also during this period that Moses received the Ten Commandments from Allah Almighty which the Jews later changed with their own hands.  When the Hebrews approached the promised land after the Exodus, they expressed fear of the residents already residing there and refused to enter, rejecting the instructions of Prophet Musa to enter the gates of the city.  They said they wouldn’t go into the holy land unless the people residing there left.  This was an unjust demand for which Allah punished the Hebrews making them wander in the surrounding deserts,  bewildered, for 40 years. Forty years is a very long time, more than a generation.  After all those years, the younger generation of Hebrews, apparently raised in the deserts, possibly got over their fear and entered the land.   This is as far as the Quran goes on Prophet Musa’s life and also his brother Harun’s life.   Whether Prophet Musa and his brother passed away sometime during these 40 years or later is known to Allah only.  A logical opinion might say it's likely they passed away during these 40 years as life expectancy in those days was much shorter.  Though we have no idea of Prophet Musa’s age during the time of the Exodus, we may surmise that he wasn’t too young .. possibly middle aged or maybe a bit beyond middle age.  So, even if he and his brother lived up to their 60s  or 70s or older, it would be within the period of those 40 years.

The Hadith literature on this topic, as usual, has its share of tales, fibs and nonsense. According to various Sunni ahadith, Harun dies shortly before Musa. The staggeringly ridiculous ahadith claim is that when the Angel of death came to Musa, he slapped the angel on the eye. The angel returned to Allah and said Musa does not want to die.  Allah tells the angel to return to Musa and tell him to put his hand on the back of an ox, and for every hair that comes under his hand, he would be granted a year of life.  When Musa asked Allah what would happen after the given time, Allah told him that he would die after that period.  Musa then requested Allah to grant him death at his current age near the promised land.  The grave of Musa is presumably located at Maqam El-Nabi Musa, but the confirmed truth is only known to Allah Almighty.

As everyone knows, the altered biblical stories about the passing of Prophet Musa and his brother, Harun, are profusely complex and replete with contradictions, absurdities, forgeries and outright lies. A complete waste of time providing utter confusion in the minds of readers rather than any bit of education.

I would advise everyone to stay away from all such time wasting careless fabrications and falsehoods.

If you want the Truth, adhere only to the Noble Quran.

I have also read that lie.  Altered Christian and Jewish scriptures are loaded with falsehoods, many of those fraudulent contents very offensive.  That's why I say, keep away from their lying demonic writings and never search for info there.

Anyone who truly cares for Truth, the only path for them is Quran alone.

The original Arabic name is Musa which means to be "drawn out of water."

Moses is the English Latinized version of Musa.  The Hebrew Latinized is Moshe.
