Messengers in Surah Ya Sin verses 36:13-15

"Coin for them a similitude: The people of the city when those sent (from Allah) came unto them;  When We sent unto them twain, and they denied them both, so We reinforced them with a third, and they said:  Indeed, we have been sent unto you.  They said: You are but mortals like unto us.  The Beneficent has not revealed.  You do but lie!"   36:13-15  Ya Sin.

Who are these messengers?  I first thought Moses, but they were only two of them, Moses and Aaron.

Except Allah Almighty, we really don't know to whom these two Ayats refer.   All we know is that The Almighty is mentioning about three messengers sent by Him to guide a nation gone astray.  But the people of that nation rejected them.  We are also not sure which nation this was. 

Allah Almighty has confirmed that He has sent messengers in the past to every nation / community in the world.  But we have been informed of only some of those messengers, not all.  Therefore, there are quite a few mentions in the Noble Quran of messengers without stating their names, identities and locations because these details aren't necessary.  The goal of all such Quranic narrations is to warn people to quit being stubborn and accept the Truth of guidance.

You will find some commentators trying to look for answers for the identities and geographical locations of the regions of this and other similar Quranic narratives by rummaging through the man-written Hadith and altered man-written Bibles, all of which are replete with contradictions and varying ideas that provide no authentic information but plenty of confusion to readers.   At MV we completely avoid such speculations. 

Therefore, whatever Allah Almighty does not want us to know, just leave it.  Whatever Allah does not want us to know is because it is truly not necessary.
