October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

Salam and peace dear all.

Here's the hadith on focus ..  I got the narrator's name from the hadith book by Bukhari which isn't mentioned in the hadith presentation below.  This illustrated presentation calls itself "Quran Source" but majority of its contents are from hadith, not an uncommon habit of most of our mainstream traditional sources.

As you may know, Iqama is the immediate call for prayers which comes a little while after the Adhan.  Adhan informs us of the commencement of  the time window of every particular prayer.  Iqama is the call after the Adhan when everyone is expected to be ready for salah. This is an indication that the person leading the prayer has taken their place in the jam'ah facing the Ka'bah and is ready to begin the salah.  Thus, the Iqamah is a shorter version of the Adhan.

The practice of iqama is usually in Mosques but can also be implemented in prayer congregations at home particularly in households with large families joining the congregation.   At home anyone can pronounce the Iqama, but traditionally and usually, it is pronounced by the eldest male member of the family. Though if male  members aren’t present, female members can also recite the Iqama.

Our Shaikhs in their presentations specifically mention that when Iqama is heard, you should leave whatever you are engaged in and join the jam’ah for prayer.   This obviously indicates that whenever Iqama is recited, whether in the Mosque or at home, it is after making sure everyone is ready for prayer, have performed their wudu, with no other responsibilities at that time to cause delay for joining the congregation.  So, the obvious question is, why would anyone put supper on the table at a time when the muezzin or a member of a family are getting ready to recite the Iqama?  When it’s time for Iqama, wouldn’t everyone in a Mosque or a home know that Iqama is about to be delivered?  Why would anyone put supper on the table or the on the dinner floor-mat dot on the time when Iqama is being rendered?  As mentioned, our shaikhs and scholars insist that obedience to Iqama is first and foremost when you hear it, let go of everything else and calmly proceed to prayer.  I agree.  That’s an excellent gesture of respect for salah.  But isn’t this hadith contradicting it?

Please note, only the Adhan is contained in the Noble Quran, not the Iqama.  Nonetheless, we accept Iqama as an extension of the Adhan and a very positive move.

What stands out in this hadith is the practice of tradition contradicting tradition, and furthermore negating the purpose of Iqama.

Walaikum As-salam dear sister Ruhi.   Hadithists as always, perfect dimwits, are confused between Iqama and Adhan.  Very likely Bukhari & co. never knew the difference between the two.  That’s apparently the reason for this bungled up hadith.  What it says here can apply to Adhan not Iqamah.  Since Adhan indicates  the time bracket for every salah, dinner or lunch can be put on the table soon after you hear the Adhan.  Then, everyone finishes supper or lunch, rinses or brushes their teeth, do their wudu and are ready for prayer .. and that’s when some member of the household or someone in the Mosque (if it’s there) pronounces the Iqama.  At that time you should come and join the jam’ah otherwise you will miss the congregational salah or a portion of it .. unless for some significant reason you decide not to join the jam’ah and offer your salah a little later, on your own.  There’s nothing wrong with that either if it’s done for a good reason with benign intentions.

Wa'salam to all.

Totally agree Sister Heba.  You caught them again spot on.  This hadith is a confusion between Adhan and Iqama, the difference between the two, the Bukhari-Huraira clan never knew clearly enough..

Sister Ruhi, how did this idea come, from some hadith?

.... but traditionally and usually, it is pronounced by the eldest male member of the family. .....

Yeah from ever-tainted hadith  😁  It’s from a Bukhari hadith on adhan, iqama and leading prayer ,, hadith #384 narrator some Malik bin Hawairith quote “Two men came to the Prophet with the intention of a journey.  The Prophet said when both of you set out, pronounce Adhan and then Iqama and the oldest of you should lead the salat.”   Although logically in a situation like this Iqama isn't necessary .. if two persons are travelling they are obviously moving or taking a break together so they mutually decide when they have to offer salah .. and then they offer it.  But according to traditionalists, even if you are alone by yourself, yet you must recite the Iqama before starting salah.  Completely illogical.

Well, good to know that at least Huraira and Bukhari don’t have information on the ‘intestinal disturbances’ of Satan during Iqama as they do in regard to Adhan.

 HysLaugh

Huraira-Bukhari & Co. do have info on Satan's intestinal problems for Iqama as well .....

"When the Adhan is pronounced Satan takes to his heels and passes wind with noise during his flight in order not to hear the Adhan. When the Adhan is completed he comes back and again takes to his heels when the Iqama is pronounced …”  Hadith No: 582 narrated by the champ falsifier, A. Huraira ..

O man!  I will never forget this trash !!

A question for our shaikhs and shaikhas, and ustads and ustadas in Q&A ...... when Satan returns and takes to his heels again on hearing Iqama, does he again fart ?

😆

It would be a good idea to present that question to them .... after all they whole-heartedly glorify the nonsensical institution of hadith and thus they ought to take all queries in regard to his institution seriously.  But if anyone puts that question, they will get mad cause they know the stuff is trash .. they prefer to stay silent and retain the heap of garbage instead of spring cleaning the institution .. or preferably dumping it altogether.

Exactly .. I would love to put that question to the ustada .. but I know she will be furiously offended .... it's their guilty conscience that nudges them at such moments because they know just too well about the bulk of garbage contained in the hadith school.
